  1. OK so the Ebay buyer was a fraud. I can't understand why people bid when they have no money or no intention of buying. So the car is still for sale. Anyone who can put $7500 on the table gets the car. You can message me on 0414496972. But please only if you seriously want a car like this and have the money.
  2. Well the Ebay auction turned out a fizzer. The highest bidder called to make arrangements to pay and then disappeared off the planet. Doesn't answer messages or his phone. So by the time I gave up on him I got in touch with the second bidder. He bought another car in meantime. The third bidder didn't respond. So I'm a bit pissed off. I have re-listed the car on Ebay again but I'm wary of anyone who bids without seeing the car.
  3. Car is sold. Thanks for your help everyone.
  4. The car is now on Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260z-2-2-with-RB25DET-registered-in-NSW-/321717178988 <Modified to include link to eBay auction>
  5. Also at the time I consulted the insurance company. They weren't worried about any of the mods and the premium did not change. I did forget to mention that the car has four piston front brakes. More detail available on the blogspot. http://datsun260zrb25det.blogspot.com.au/?m=1
  6. Engineering: I ran all this past the RTA at the time. Probably because the engine is the same size as the original I'm not sure but they told me to get a blue slip with all the new engine details. I did this. The motor however does meet all the environmental requirements for a car with that motor as original. (A Nissan Skyline 1991). The exhaust system is all new with catalytic converter.

  9. Just a quick one. I have a 1974 260Z that has a standard RB25DT engine fitted. It is registered (just got the pink slip and paid for 6 months). The car is pretty ordinary. It needs paint. It needs to get the rumble out of the tailshaft. Apart from that it's mechanically pretty good. Most of the bits that wear out have been replaced. Does anyone have any idea what this car is worth? I'm reluctant to spend money on a paint job etc if it doesn't make much difference to the worth of the car. If anyone is interested I can be contacted on 0414496972. I'll try and take some photos and make a list of the good the bad the not so ugly. BTW the car is in Sydney NSW. If I sound ignorant perhaps I am. It's my son's car but registered in my name. He asked me to sell it.
  10. I have a 260z that started out as an auto and has been converted to a manual. The brakes are savage and I wondered if the auto has a different booster from the manual. Can anyone confirm this?
