Hi i just stumbled on the thread ha ha,
Well its not a 120y its a 140z I'm the second owner, 15 384km on the clock, number 56 of 306. the model code is a KPB 210 GKQ Where as the normal 140y was just the KPB210.
Engine wise The 140z datsun came out with a L14 engine fitted with a special cam manufactured by Richie Jute, two dellorto side draughts and a big port A87 head that was matched vs the intake manifold.
Exterior the front spoiler and rear ductail spoiler was introduced with fendor mirrors and alloy 13 inch rims, they had blacked out interior with sporty rally seats.
The racing car also had the same L14 engine only with allot more detail that went into the head, bigger skyline valves, rocker ratio's, porting and a s280 cam. the sub assembly was balanced and fitted with a light weight clutch. a pair of 48 webber carbs gave the feul, standard 4 speed gearbox and a borg warner rear end fitted with a LSD, front suspension saw double ventilated discs and 4 pot brakes. Coilovers was also used and a stiffer stabilizer bar.
The exterior they fitted it with a set of wheel arches to cover the 14inch x 9 j wide split compomotives with slick tyres.
