This is what happens when your beloved classic car loses power. I was driving to work, car lost power pulled into the the left lane, put on hazard lights, checked under bonnet for anything loose, seems okay. Get back into car, have enough sense to put seat belt on and try and restart car. obviously feeling very vulnerable. After a couple of minutes I hear the worst sound in the world. I look in the mirror to see a blue car pushing me. I spoke to a witness of the accident and the person had accelerated into me pushing me 100 metres down the road. This is the first time my car has ever missed a beat, log booked car with only 101K on the clock. It was truly as minty as you could get. Lucky enough I only suffered minor whip lash, but the elderly lady had to go to hospital suffering chest pains and shock. Myself suffering some form of grief, similar to when my 14 year old Labrador died. Shannon's will assess the car on Monday. Police and tow drivers say there is a 99.5 % chance it will be a total lost. So what am I supposed to do now?

Almost got the lady on the road. Suspension sorted, went the normal route of lowered 1" King springs and KYB shocks and struts. I was surprised that the 33 year old suspension had not sagged at all, also replaced the bump stops. My partner and myself both groaned as we lowered ourselves into the car, I am glad I am going to enjoy the car know rather than later. Blue slipped passed with flying colours. Unfortunately Shannons sent the green slip to the wrong address. Should be sorted tomorrow, I know Saturday, but will pay with debit card and get registered. Car is not as original as I would want, happy with the suspension, but I upholstered the hood lining in velour, and the two rear sections in the hatch area in a non original vinyl, (not the spare wheel compartment). Would appreciate any help with acquiring the appropriate materials to correct. Not that many people would pick. Anyway, just a update before I can take some new photos of the girl on the road.

Photos soon, the wait is also killing me. The zed does not look a day over 10. Only wish I could age so well. Soon I will have the same colour hair as duco.

Hi, and welcome, I am also a new member, and new to forums, but not to zeds. I feel excited for you, as I truly know the enjoyment a zed brings to our lives. There great to work on, and even better to drive. They're now at that age where the next generation stops to admire them. Even my ride, a S130. Last time I was at a takeaway shop, a crowd of teenagers had their mobiles out taking photos. ENJOY

Thanks very much. Zed is in pretty good condition, will be on the road by next weekend. Looking forward to meeting some like minded people for a cruise and a few laughs.

Thanks for the welcome, owned 3 280's, 79 manual, 82 auto, current 80 manual. Looking forward to the zed being back on the road where it belongs. Planning on driving it most days, it has never let me down in the past. Just some kinks to iron out, after sitting for 3 years or so. Hard to beat cars, music and lifestyle from the swinging 60's.

Hi, New member from the Gong. Currently getting the old girl back on the road. Nothing major to do, just the 30 year old suspension. Unfortunately, not a S30, but a clean S130.
