/Restoring an R32 GTR - Time and effort is not a problem - In restoring the rule of thumb is you spend 60 - get back 20.
I don't build my cars for any kind of resale.
And I don't budget for the build. LOL.
I KNOW shells themselves cannot be registered - the fact anyone thought I was implying that is ludicrous.
I can do all the work myself, from the rust repairs right down to the Interior retrimming. (Sad part about having a bossy girlfriend - you learn to sew too)
I don't build cars for any return in value at all.I build them to enjoy them - building them to sell them for a profit is like having a girlfriend, buying her a heap of nice clothes and then just getting rid of her for no good reason.
You don't even get to have fun with it when you just build it, never drive it and just sell it - Or at least I don't anyway - there are those who do.
The reason I am looking for a clean shell is because I have multiple sets of RB motors with gearboxes, several rear cradles, and enough other GTR parts to make the Nissan factory proud.
I would like to build - in the long run - a GTR R32 into a classic Zed, ATTESSA, HICAS, the whole shebang, but I don't think I could have the patience to do it.
Let alone the lunacy to bother.
I just want one I can build as a project.
If it isn't a two seater that is fine - but if it isn't - I ain't paying megabux for it unless the shell is completely rust free.
3-4k seemed reasonable for a decent nick 2+0 shell - but obviously I'm five years too late, and in the wrong country.
LOL.
Zeds are still cheap in the U.S Ironically - because we are closer to japan than they are.
So - anyone here know of anyone with a clean VIN shell, 240,260,280z - coupe or 2+2?
