I'm not expecting an immaculate 240Z with everything done, ect. Hence why I want an unloved one. Meaning it's rough. I got a 240Z a year ago that was a little rough but in good shape and everything was there for $4,000. Given 2+2s don't go for as much or either in lesser condition or even engine/gearbox missing I wouldn't expect more than $4,000. As per money spent in the long run, as much as it takes really. I have my ways around buying and selling though.

Hello! I'm looking to buy a rough, unloved Zed. Preferably a manual at least, though the engine and gearbox are not necessary. Interior must be pretty much complete though I'm not fussed about the rear half of the inside or the carpet. Dash, seats and center console is a must though. Body-wise, I'd like most of the panels to be there although I'm lenient. 2+2 or 2 seater, though again a 2 seater would be best. Must be located Victoria or Adelaide/NSW/ACT at least. Feel free to contact me on 0433 713 091 Thanks! Todd

Possibly! Send me some pictures through email: toddmalk@hotmail.com Cheers! -
260Z 2+2 Manual with either L26E or L28E engine but it is a factory EFI engine. 260Z gearbox + all running gear + a load of spare parts and most of the interior bits, although it is missing a few interior parts like seats and front window. All cylinders are around 165 comp tested. Cranked it over and fuel is going through but the coil has no power to it. Looking for $1590 or you can take all of my zed and zed-accosiated parts (front bar like Devil Z + clear indicators, spare bumpers, three sets of 260Z tail lights, S13 coilovers(unsure on condition), 240Z 2-din panel with three switches and holes for water/temp pod, ect; plus a load more.) Or will swap for Z31/280ZX Located N/E Melbourne (Eltham) TEXT Todd: 0433 713 091

I'm just hoping that something pops up in Melbourne soon! Will save me a lot of hassle
-
I've also seen that one and have been sussing out the prices to deliver it to Melbourne. Would be very good in all honesty! I'd imagine the bidding would go up to around 4 thousand dollars, of which I would pull out at around $3,000 If it were in Melbourne, i'd have already booked to view it and maybe bought it! haha
-
I've already asked about it and it has been sold for a while now. Got my hopes up far too much! It's pretty much perfect for what I need!
-
Will also accept 2-seater 280Z or 280ZX !

I am fine with a few missing parts; say, floor carpet or roof lining, ect. Missing boot hatch or doors, I am not so fine with. Rust, I am completely fine with. The car can be an absolute wreck with rust. But just as long as most of the parts are there My last 240Z was a steal at the price i got it for. Shame that they're very limited and not common on ebay, ect. Thanks

After selling my first 240Z and swapping my second 240Z, I am looking to purchase another one of these fine automobiles. Going by my previous purchases, my budget is as follows; One without engine, no missing parts and rust/rough - $2,000 - $3,000 One with engine, no missing parts and rust/rough - $4,000 - $7,000 Located in Melbourne/Victoria would be good, but otherwise I will happily pay for the 240Zs transport. TEXT Todd: 0433 713 091 or PM me here. Thanks!

Hello! Name is Todd, 21y/o, from Melbourne and absolutely obsessed with 70s - 80s Datsuns, Toyotas and Porsches. I have owned two S30s (along with a whole bunch of other old-er cars(pictures added)) and after regretfully swapping my last one for a track car, I am looking to purchase another one as a project (PM me if you have one for sale! ). There is a bunch of good fruit waiting to go into the 240Z and I am excited to begin my hatred for another car build! Needless to say; there will be lots of anger, kicking tools across the garage, accidentally punching sharp metal parts from a slipping socket and lots and lots of learning. Hopefully will chat to you all and I look forward to progressing my knowledge in Datsuns. Red 240Z: loads of parts missing, was the point that I realized that it helps to have a complete car to work on. Blue 240Z: Complete car but wasn't tuned and had LOTS of rust (you could easily push the firewall in from so much rust)

Got it ! It was the amp gauge ! Now I need to study as to why its not sparking ! Thanks to everyone for your help. -Todd

The fusible link after the starter motor has current going through it. The red/white wire running from the dash to the alternator seems to be the problem.. there isn't any current coming from it and when we bridge it to the battery, the car cranks over and works.
-
The story goes like this; I bought a 240Z, plugged the battery in and everything worked (radio, tail lights, interior lights, headlights, dash lights, break lights, ect). The starter motor clicked over but from bad terminal connection, that is as far as I got it.. until dad put the battery around the wrong way and tried to start it. The starter motor still works (cranked it over by bridging it), key barrel isn't playing up, it blew the centre- left and right fuse and when I bridge a positive current to the alternator the car cranks over but none of the acc. works and when i turn the key, nothing happens. As you can tell, I am new to Datsuns as my last resto was an 1980 corolla. Despite studying the wiring diagrams and checking for current/continuity, I am clueless and need help, please ! If it gets to it, I can pay someone to come out and have a squizz at it/try and fix it. Feel free to Text me: zero433713091 Or reply to this thread. Thank you all ! -Todd
