I just recently bought a 1971 240z with a 260z engine. The problem that I am having is with the tach. Every time I turn the key on ( engine not running ) the tach pegs all the way past 8000 rpm. I disconnected everything off of the coil and distributor with no result. I checked under the dash and it is clean. I have a feeling that I have a short between the tach and the ignition system. Has anyone out there have this problem?
