  1. Hi everyone, sorry haven't been on for a while but about 5 weeks ago i had a heart attack... Was a bit of a shock considering I'm only 25 and fit and healthy, so I have had to put my dream of doing up a 240 on hold till I start work again. Hope all is good Dave

  3. Hi Dave, I really hadn't even thought of a 260.... I guess when I first want a 240z I didn't really want to modify it much so I was more influenced by the value of the car... And like you said first off the belt. What advantages would a 260z have over a 240 that I could take advantage of? One of the things I know I am limited to with a 240z is the standard tire size, I Queensland I think you can only go 1.3 x the original size (width) and I was hoping to get a 265 on the back and 255 on the front. I am not sure though if 260z have a larger original tire size than the 240z....

Good point, I really what to keep that handling, well as much as I can with the ton of bricks I will dumping into it, I was thinking of using GTR or 350z susp & brakes but not to sure how the will fit. I think I will need some cross bracing fixed to the sub frame to make it a little more rigid. I really want it to be a track and street car (sunday driver), want it to handle just as good as standard an a bit better (if that's possible). I don't know much about 240z susp mods, so it was my plan to get everyones idea's on what could be done, I'm not to worried about cost, if I can get a z for 10-15k ill be spending another 40-50k on it, I would think with my current plans there will be at least 30k of that spend on the engine, i will be doing most of it myself....cause I just love messing with engine's and I haven't had the chance in years. He is still developing the app, last I heard he was having little trouble getting all the points of connectivity linked up, but I think it will be awesome once all the bugs are sorted out.

Thanks, i sure do ill post something soon with what i have in mind, i basically want the look and style of the 1970's with 21st century safety, comfortability and power It would be good to get every one's idea's on things like suspension and brake replacements wheel size's ect. I have a pretty good idea of what i want from the engine: -VK45DE bored out to a 5.6 -With VK56 crank and con rods -forged pistons -race cams (designed to work with the turbo's) -Triple valve springs or 2 rock hard ones -Ported head -over sized injectors -2x Garrett GT30 Turbo’s -Extractors -2x 3.5” Strait pipes -2x front mount Inter coolers -2x big ass Pod Filters -3core radiator -6 Speed Gear Box (not sure from where) -LSD Diff (not sure what yet) -Custom ECU (my mate makes pretty red hot ones that can link to an android phone) -Not to sure what i will do to the ignition timing ect I have no idea how many HP it will pump out but probably to much Will need to strengthen body i would think. Im building a 3d model of it atm... bit hard off hand drawn blue's

Hey guys, I new to this awesome forum and im looking for a 240z or a 260z, i only really want to pay 10-15k as i plan to do a rebuilt with a VK45DE down the track, I want to drive it round for a year or two to get the feel of it before doing any major work. I would really like minimal rust (no structural) as i have had rusty cars in the past and there is only a certain amount of rust fish oil can take care off lol I plan to do a far bit of body work like custom flaring on back and from out of carbon fiber with a front end kit. Please let me know if you know anyone who has a nice old 240 or 260z up for sale EDIT: i also only want a 2 seater not a 2+2 260z Cheers Dave

  8. Hey Guys, My name is Dave and i am a z fan, I am originally from nz but moved over to Brisbane about 5 years ago (like half of nz). I have own a few 280's and still own one on my olds farm back home, you would be lucky to see it for all the grass growing on it. Currently i am seeking a 240z to drive around till i get a house with a nice shed (every mans dream) and renovate her with a VK45DE (TT) dropped in. its been a dream i have had for about 10 years but only now i have had the money to pursue this. So anyone with a 240z with minimal rust in nice working order (Legal) that wants to sell or knows of someone selling PLEASE let me know. Thanks Dave
