Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I have recently purchased a 240z. I started having ignition problems soon after I bought it and the starter motor quickly gave in. I had it rebuilt and put it back into the car. Upon taking the car for a test drive the starter was incredibly hot and making a loud noise (almost as if parts inside it were broken off and spinning around), at the same time this was happening my headunit and tacho were constantly loosing connection. Anyway I parked the car back into my driveway and sure enough it wouldn't crank over. I talked to my auto electrician (same one who rebuilt the started) and he told me it must be the ignition barrel as the ignition barrel was very loose and at times it was quite hard to pull the key out. I ordered a new starter motor and ignition barrel from America and installed it today. The car turns over like a beast but my headunit and tacho are still flickering on and off. At this point I'm scared to take it out for a test drive as I don't want the new starter to break.
Any advice you guys could give me would be great
