  1. Ok guys I will make this my last post on the subject. It is Kobes that did not have the papers at the time of sale, as required by law. I did contact him several times via email ,phone conversation in person and text to solve the problem and then he stopped communicating. I don't know Kobes but I have dealt with people many times in my life that react like this when they have made a mistake. They tend to hide their heads in the sand and hope the problem goes away. I'm not mad with Kobes, but am frustrated with his handling of it. The comments from some that its in any way my fault are just wrong. Its sometime hard not to take sides with the person when you know them. Even when they are the ones at fault. That's just human nature. Sometime it's hard to stand up to friends or family and say hey, that's not right. Kobes has chosen to admit it was him who sold the car and admitted so good on him for that(he could have continued to keep quiet). But he didn't tell you about the other times (more than once)he was supposed to drop it of . I also think he meant to do the right thing but some times life can be distracting. The fact remains he has all my details. It was his choice not to respond to my attempt to contact him. Andrew PS People say I'm soft hearted and a good bloke to. Just ask them
  2. No Salty in the West a car cannot be sold unless the transfer papers are filled out at the time of sale by the owner. That's why Kobey got the fine. His fault not mine. ed- The other thing is when your car runs out of rego you get a reminder. The after a time you will get a request to hand in the plates. Then you get a fine. I brought the car on EBAY and emails are sent back and forward after sale. I still have copies of the sale from EBAY and PAYPAL. Kobe also has copies on his EBAY account as well, I know because I have Checked and he is still an active member, so HE HAS MY NUMBER. THERE IS NO EXCUSE. One more thing (sorry you got me going now with you abusive tone) I inquired about opening a dispute through EBAY/PAYPAL and was told although its an unusual case, they said there was no reason I couldn't reclaim the money through PAYPAL. I chose not to do this to Kobes.
  3. Kobes at last. I didn't know where you lived because I picked the car up from your mates house. You said that day you would have rego and parts at your work next day but you didn't. I went into your work on several occasions but only caught you the once but I did leave messages. The last time the guy said I'd better get hold of you because you were leving town. I called and messaged you on your mobile and you said you'd drop off the parts and rego but you never did. The next time I text ed and called you you didn't answer and didn't call back. By that time the car was out of rego and you had left town. The fine you got you could have avoided by finishing the deal. Your fault not mine. I said to you if the car was in good nick I mite run it out of rego but it's not. I also said if the car was in poor condition I'd clean it up and resell it but now I can't do that without papers. You had address and phone number so you can still call me and drop off the parts and rego papers. If you lost my number you can find it in our emails we set at the time of sale. I payed you on the date of sale and have been nothing but patent and polite. I should have been less trustful and waited to get all items before paying you. I'll know better next time. From your tone above you make it seen like its my fault but no its your own doing. Any more problems please PM me. Thanks again for those that offered useful advice. Andrew
  4. New owner wanted to but got jerked around.
  5. Thank guys. I think I'll keep it and do her up slowly(very slowly). This forum seems to have some very friendly people so I feel a little more secure in the knowledge that such a comunity is avalable for help and advice. Wish me luck.
  6. OH, maybe I will buy her flowers. I had a look underneath and the chassis rails are stuffed. Lots of rust around the windows but the sills and doors look good. They're a great car maybe I'll put a tarp over it and push it to the corner of the shed(next to the Beetle).
  7. Thank for your reply. I'm in WA, so as long as the car stays licenced there's no need for road worthiness check. If there was I'd never have purchased the car.
  8. Hi guys. Just wondering what I should do and am looking for advice. I purchased a Jap spec 280zx as a project for my daughter a few months back. I was hoping to tidy it up with my girl and give a paint job. My wife was against me buying it as we don't have to much of the folding stuff (I'm a full time carer of my disabled son), but I swore if it wasn't suitable for our girl I could sell it and get our money back. The problem is the guy I brought it of was supposed to drop of some spares and the transfer papers but never showed. After contacting him several times with the promise he'd come through I find out he's left town. The car is now unlicensed because of the lack of licence papers and would never get over the pits. What should I do? 1. Run away and join circus. 2. Do the car up. 3. Burn the car. 4. Hunt the guy down and park the car in his living room. 5 Buy the wife flowers and hope she forgets.
