lol i was just reading about this wedging. damn. so whats the problem with not wedging it? is it that the tensioner goes past the chain guide?

Hey guys, currently changing a head gasket on my L28. The problem is, i put the head on torqued up the bolts and tried to put the cam sproket with chain attached on to the camshaft, but it wont reach. i have another spare block in the garage and tried to do the same on that and it has the same problem- i even pulled the tensioner out, but to no avail. Theres around 10mm from the pin of the camshaft to the hole of the sproket. is there a method that im missing? thanks in advance, marlon

thanks for the help fufu, i think i know the one your talking about (the silver one?)- i messaged him so hopefully its still available. im not really looking for a project z as i just came from owning a twin turbo 300zx which was a project never finished. about the condition of the car- i will have to lower my standards. At the moment i dont have any massive plans- but hoping to get some very nice simmons wheels for it, then save for a re-spray. id like to keep it fairly stock. also after seeing a couple of 280zx's i think il stay away from them- and im now looking for the 240z's and 260z's.
