Aha...it's actually just a light to illuminate the cassette player... through me, because of that tinted window...usually goes over iR.. Now I guess an iR sensor would work behind this tinted window anyway right ?? Because I'm mounting an MP3 / CD player in the glovebox, and want to oprerate it by remote control via the iR...

Whilst dismantling the dash of my 280ZX...I came accross an ifra red reciever under the center dash vents (just above the radio section) :shock: ... it looks to be factory original as the little tinted window has a propper moulding that it fits snuggly into ... and i can also see it in the diagram in the workshop manual...but no mention as to what it is...... Anyone know what that is supposed to be for

well...that sounds like a good deal all up for sure... I have a gig tonight..over in the Nerthern suburbs...so can't make it tonight...and basically playing every night until monday...so maybe next week during the day I'll drop over....did you say you have a workshop or something..? Where abouts are you exactly anyway...?

COOL ! Yeah...well...that sounds like a good deal either way...I guess what I'm trying to acheive ..more so than firming up the car, is getting the rear end to sit up a bit higher...as it looks like it's sagging a bit...especially with a full tanks of fuel...which i guess also means they are now a little too soft as well..... but they're probably softer than they used to be when standard 23 years ago too... What do you think I should do in you opinion ?? Also, how much should i be looking at for the instalation of rear springs

yeah...maybey just Lovells on the rear might be what i need then...since that really where I ntice the main sagging... Guess I';ll hunt around for availability, prices etc... thanks

Since replacing my the shocks on my 280ZX about a year ago (w/ KYB replacement )...I've decided I also need to replace the original stock springs...since it's starting to sag a little too much ( more ) in the rear end especially.. Just after some advice on what & where to look for....I'm in Hawthorn, Vic 3122.... I don't really want to lower it, or change it too much from the stock appearance...though a little firmer wouldn't hurt... :? hmmm.. actually I've already changed it...but with a better quality globe from an Auto elec, as opposed to the previous k-mart bulb....but I'll keep an eye on it anyway...thanks

:shock: My 280ZX has blown to intirior light globes with in a couple of weeks....anyone got any ideas..?

Has anyone one retro fitted a CD PLAYER / RADIO / CASS etc. into the glove box before ? I'm thinking of doing this on my 280ZX...since it is completely stock...and still has the original radio / cassette...though it doesn't sound very good... ... hence this idea.. I'm hoping I can mount a new CD / radio player into the glove compartment...and then have it work indipendantly from the original... so as both can still be operable.. Ideally, a unit with a remote control would be good...though...not sure if it would work with the glove box door closed anyway... So if anyone's done this...or has any advice.. please let me know... P.S. I've also posted a request for a 280ZX glove box interior...as I really don't want to cut or screw into the original...so if you have one... again please let me know..
