I am currently running a bog standard original front sway bar from a 260z. Can I get some opinions regarding the appropriate size bar for a road registered race car running 250 to 300Lb front springs?

For anything you plan on genuinely racing I would recommend 'adjustability', whether that is Anti-roll bars, dampers, spring heights, castor, camber, etc.  That way you can tune the car to the track/conditions/your driving style.

Adjustable ARBs are generally for fine tuning the front to rear ratio of weight transfer, because changing the springs at a race meeting can take too long and requires lots more money for 3 or 4 sets of springs.

I would suggest a 22mm front ARB as a starting point but without knowing other stuff like the rear spring rates, the weight distribution F to R, rear ARB size, etc, it is a bit hard to guess...

I have a 23mm front bar with coilovers 340lb front, 4way adjustable shocks, 3.2 degrees neg camber, 1.5degrees castor(standard rods), toe 0.4mm. Rears fixed as original with 220lb, koni reds and standard 18mm bar, 1.9mm toe. Seems to be very neutral in handling, with easy turn in. I ran with the rear bar connected and disconnected at phillip island and it didn't make any noticable change to driving feel, times were the same too!

Its still driven on the road but the front is very stiff on the smallest bumps  :o
