Gearbox Speedo Sensor

Hi All

I did a quick search and couldn't find anything on this, so i thought I would post.

What are peoples using at the moment for a gearbox sensor for their electronic speedometers?

I have a stock 2.6L with 5sp and am looking at upgrading the speedo to an electronic item(had a VDO unit in my MK2 Escort which I really liked), so obviously I need a gearbox sensor to match.

Any thoughts?

Was there ever an answer on this one?  I'm curious as well.  I think I read once that an S13 sensor could go in there but haven't done any significant research to back that up.

I have the speed sensor of a CA18 gearbox (S13 iirc)

I havent fitted it, but from my preliminary inspection the threads look the same, so it should screw straight on.

If i remember this weekend, i'll screw it onto my spare L series box and get back to you.

well, to anyone asking or paying attention, yes, it fits.

As before, pretty sure it was a sender from a CA18 S13 silvia (could have been R31 skyline 5 speed) , but japanese parts being as awesome as they are, you'll probably find any of the nissan speed senders will screw in place.

I tried to get some numbers off it, but the sticker is long since faded to nothing usefull.
