1972 Datsun 240Z in show/concourse condition for sale. 

This Australian delivered example was sold new on 6 December 1972 by Heidelberg Datsun West Heidelberg & remarkably the car comes with original owners manual & service books & is a 2 owner vehicle. This 1 previous owner example with extensive documentation, still had its original tyres from new when the current & second owner purchased it in 1986. 

This is possibly one of the most significant Datsun 240Z due to its remarkable condition, low verifiable mileage, completely rust free body & extremely low production/build automatic transmission. It is believed that only 1% of 240 Z were built with automatic transmissions. Remarkably it has only travelled 35,000 miles from new. 

It had been in dry storage since 1986 when the decision was made to carry out a full restoration. Although the vehicle was in remarkable & original condition the decision was made to undertake a full restoration because it had been sitting for 32 years & it was the ideal candidate for a high end restoration due to a unique set of circumstances - very low verifiable mileage, only 1 previous owner history with full books & Australian delivery. 240Z chassis HS30-100175 Registration VIC LJE786 received a full body bare metal rotisserie restoration over a 2 year period commencing in 2018 with completion at the end of 2019.

The car is 100% factory correct with every part of the car having been refurbished, restored or replaced with NOS parts. There would not be a better restored 240Z in Australia. When removing the sound/body deadener from the front floors it exposed original bright metal/panels with not even surface rust present. The interior looks new and is all original right down to the carpet and under felt.
