Year: 1971 Make: DATSUN Model: 240Z Colour: Red Body Style: Saloon Plate: MY240 Engine No: L24-055262 Chassis: HS30-01276 Quote Description Odometer is in miles. I have had the car 28 years and it has always been garaged. An excellent example of a true classic. Refurbished from the ground up, back to bare metal, re-sprayed to original colour, new wheels and tyres, upholstery, receipts for all mechanical work. Original gearbox and 280Z motor which was in the car when I bought it. I’m the only owner since having it re-vined. No details of previous owners except who I bought it off. Number plate not included but will sell separately. Questions: I assume you don't have the original engine and therefore it's not a matching numbers car? Why did it need revinning? Answer: Good morning, as I stated in my description, the 280Z motor was in the car when I bought it 28 years ago. I bought it off the previous owner as a restoration project and it was unregistered and unwarranted. More than happy to answer questions on my phone number provided.
Administrators gav240z 3,005 Posted March 25, 2025 Administrators Listed again in NZ. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/nissan/datsun/listing/5220444232 https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=MY+240 Price: $120,000 NZD Quote Description 1972 NZ new Datsun 240Z. First registered on the last day of 1971. Previous owner to me had it for 30 years. Has always been a well looked after car. I am positive this car has always been rust free. Paint is 25 years old and looks like it was done last year. A testament to how well it has been treated. It was stripped to the bare steel and redone, including glass out. All rubbers were replaced at the same time- front and rear screen, door rubbers, grommets, rear hatch rubbers etc. The interior has been redone. Its original colour was Metallic Blue. A very similar shade to what it is now. The car has brand new wheels and tyres but comes with the kidney bean alloy wheels that I was told were on it when it was new. Current wheels and tyres are near new. The underside of the car is very nice with a lot of work carried out on the independent rear suspension and the front as well. It runs and drives beautifully and the 5 speed makes it that much nicer on the highway. It is a very quick car, and it drives, handles and feels like you are in an old Ferrari. Also very economical. The personalized plate goes with the car. It also has a very cool set of number plate surrounds as well and a dealer given Datsun hat/ manual. If I had to pick a negative there are 3 fine cracks on the dashboard, although these can be easily fixed by a vinyl repair person as the dash does not extend to the windscreen. All chrome has been redone. Badges are new etc. In summary it is a very good example of a kiwi new RHD Datsun 240Z and an appreciating asset. Please phone for genuine enquiries. No questions will be answered via the question/ answer section.
