RB26DETT Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Hi all I am trying to identify a camshaft in my L28 P90A head motor. The markings that I can find are 721 stamped on the end of the cam, also CWC and D2 on other parts of the cam. I have been trying to get the motor tuned up, have done valve timing etc but can't get it to drive nice at low rpm so I am trying to find details of the cam. Thanks in advance, Cuong Quote
d3c0y Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 After doing a quick Google on your numbers it looks like CWC make cam blanks that people like Crane Cams buy to grind. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/camshaft-reads-cwc-274-anyone-know-company-86505.html Probably help taking a photo of the end of the cam, someone might interpret the numbers differently. DAZDA Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I would suggest Part Number 58721 might be your cam. The 58 identifying the 6-cylinder L-series and the 721 identifying the profile (which is also available on the 4 cylinder L-series). http://www.crowcams.com.au/media/catalogues/42.1%20Nissan.pdf From my experience most cam manufacturers (or regrinders) stamp their ID number for the cam profile (part number, common reference like 76°, etc) or the actual inlet and exhaust opening and closing timing (40 80 80 40 for example) on the end.
