lachie Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Hi, Does anyone know of or have had experience with a car freight company who is willing to move a half complete project car. my problem is that the car is in Brisbane and I'm in Melbourne, it looks to be a great next project but i don't want to buy it until i know what it's going to cost to get it here BUT i do want to buy it before someone else does. Most companies are happy to move an older car until i tell them that it's not running, there are 6 boxes of parts and about a dozen loose larger parts including bumper, seats, taillights, exhaust...etc Has anyone else had this problem? and how did you get around it? Am i better off going up there to get it myself(3-4 day trip) Or should i let this one slide and wait for something local to come up(Anyone got a 98% rust free 2+2 with all parts for sale?) If you know of someone who is willing to take the job at a fair price, say under $1500 could you please let me know. Thanks in advance, Lachie Quote
acf321 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Hi Lachie I had my car 'the brown hornet' shipped from melb to Sydney for about $700. The car was not a goer but did have a working hand brake which was essential. I had a heaps of parts inside the car too which was ok. Cannot remember the company, but there were literally dozens that were avail when I had it done, so no shortage of options. Good luck with it mate. Adam Quote
perrin_07 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 i had a car shipped from SE nsw to Traralgon Vic(home to home) for $752. They didnt care to much about it going, just had to have handbrake. They were a bit iffy having heaps of parts.....but im sure if the parts were neatly in a box they might not mind. The car started but wouldnt even go up an anthill so that shouldnt matter. The company was Auto Logistics...they were the cheapest by about $120. They had a problem with one of their drivers but id say that was a once off. They also do online quotes. Quote
