r200 lsd clutch pack?order new ones from USA

Hi Guys I've been watching and reading for quite awhile but had nothing interesting to say up till now.I have a r200 lsd which i have just removed because of noise and clunky operation ,i have been researching how to service /replace parts in the lsd unit on various forums.All the photos and descriptions are mostly very good ,but having opened up the lsd the discs are different from all i have seen so far . I have included photos of MY lsd ,any info or comment from those that know more than me (that wouldn't be hard) would be great. th ere are groove and serations on the discs that i haven't seen on other clutch packs?  Regards

pulled my own r200 apart and set it as per instructions off net it was same as pics seen on net with plates smooth told it was from a dr30 skyline also had 6 clutches which i wasnt expecting going by info listed on net

 

Just pulled a customers diff apart from 31 skyline import it has grooves like yours and only had 2 clutches which he had stripped the teeth from

 

local guy who has pulled a few of these diffs apart says common problem with the 2 clutch plate ones is they get so hot doing a burn out or take off and weld to plate next to it

 

then strip teeth

Thanks for the reply,  i haven't seen the serrated and grooved discs before and was wondering why they use them. and and not the smooth type? is it for more progressive action? i would  assume be more expensive to make these than the smooth type.

cant help u with why was bit shocked myself when i pulled customers diff apart and saw they were not smooth

looks like you got lucky and got 3 clutches per side and all looks to be in good nick should be ust matter of putting it back together and setting break away tension time comsuming job but worth it
