Graedat Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I recently bought a second hand 3.3:1 diff for my zed. I put it in thee other day and the ratios are perfect for the v8 but boy does it whine! I get up to 80 kph and over and it gets louder the faster i go. Under load its quiet but at cruizing speed its a pain. Anyone know of a diff repairer in the south eastern suburbs of melbourne. Also is it possible to take the LSD section out of the 3:7 i have and whack it into the 3:3? Cheers Graeme Quote
620Z Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Hi Graeme you finally found one. Take it to Chriss Wood in Blackburn. He did mine and my brothers diff. He works out of his back yeard but is very familiar with R200 diffs. I got mine beefed up at the same time. Might be worth considering. Phone 9877-2032. Mention Craig Lovegrove put you on to him if you like. Good luck. Quote

Graedat Posted November 18, 2009 Author Posted November 18, 2009 Kyle , thanks but too far for me. Cheers Quote
620Z Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Yeah he said he put in 4 clutch plates and reckons I got around 125 Ibs break away pressure. It is perfect for my car. It's that tight that on one side only if I am doing a "U" turn I can hear the diff got "i" "i" around the tight corner. Otherwise you wouldn't know. So at least when I boot it on the track I know not one wheel is spinning. something that might have happenned with the old diff. Despite all this he did my brothers diff not long ago and it is leaking oil already. SO even though he knows his stuff he might be a bit slap happy at times. So make sure he seals it properly. I got hime to get new gasket and screws for the rear case before putting on mine. No probs. Quote
