kalium Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I'm just curious as to how often motorkhana's happen in and around se qld? Do you need a cams license? It seems that they would be great fun, without needing a hugley modified car. Is there a lot of cost involved? Ray Quote
RB30X Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 We just had a 'come and try' day at the end of our drag strip. It was like $50 to enter the motorkhana and if you signed up to a club you could also pay the same day to get your cams license. Looked like heaps of fun, I can't wait to get the 240Z ready to take it to one. Quote
. Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 We just had a motorkhana on last Sunday. It was great as always. That one was for club members only. The next open (Come Try) Motorkhana is Sunday Nov 22. I would really encourage anyone / everyone to come along and give it a go. Don't be put off. Everyone makes mistakes so nobody expects you to be a perfect driver. The CAMS license for the day is $25. You can fill all the paperwork out on the day. The entry fee is $35. You will need your civil license and a 3rd party extension if your car is registered in QLD. As far as the car goes: You need all the usual safety gear (seats mounted properly, clean seatbelts). Your battery needs to be secure and the terminals taped up. The overall condition of the car doesn't need to be perfect but it needs to be operational. The engine etc needs to be reasonably clean. Traces of oil are ok but if it can be dabbed up with a cloth it really should be. They don't really check brakes or suspension (they trust that you have them working). Check the club site for more details: http://www.hsccq.asn.au/calendar.html Quote
kalium Posted September 23, 2009 Author Posted September 23, 2009 I was wondering how long it would take for you to respond Greg That sounds really good. Now all I need is to get my car back from the panel beaters... Quote
. Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 No worries. I assume you have seen all the you tube stuff? If not just search on "Greg BRE Motorkhana" or "HSCCQ Motorkhana" It would be great to see you out there. Quote
