2 + 2 passenger foot rest

I'm assuming this is what it is called. Anyone know if you can still get the rubber for it ? Mine is cracked/split - I guess they probaby all are by now, or missing altogether. Haven't looked at it closely, but I would guess they were a rubber tube that was put on over the metal tubing before one end was welded up with the hinge, so I guess installation would be the reverse,

I'd hit up Clarke Rubber (or other automotive rubber supplier) to see if there's anything they have that's similar size and look. Then just slice the rubber so you can insert it over the bar. If it's still loose, maybe try a bit of sikaflex or other adhesive stuff to keep it in place.

 

I know the rubber on my foot rest is cracked, but I haven't given it much thought yet (I'm far off that stage ).
