Doco Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Hi all... new guy here. I took a quick look at a '77 260 this morning... It appeared to have what looked like a small stress fracture in the passenger side C pillar, next to the rear hatch... this concerns more more than general rust bubbling as I can only imagine it being caused by something structural? Has anyone experienced a similar fault? Also, after reading some of the posts on here, is it reasonable to estimate that I could get rust repairs (welded, not bogged) and a respray including engine bay, for about $3,500 - $4,000? Also, I'm in sydney. Sulio put me onto the site after enquring about the stock 240 he had up for sale. Cheers for any help. Paul. Quote
Natez Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 the stress fracture you are refering to, happens cause datsun put lead in that area, where the hatch joins to the roof, or unless your car has had a little bit of bondo in that spot to smooth out the lead, that will have cracked due to the flex inthe chasis and thats the spot where it hits most... not sure about sydney, but you can get something decent with the rust repaired for the 4k mark no worries in melbourne, the paint won't be that great, but Quote
