Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 12, 2009 Moderators Posted January 12, 2009 I think some solenoids are a sealed unit. I took one apart but can't remember what car it was off. Theres not much in there anyway; just the big contacts and a coil of wire. Whats your starter doing? Quote
marty Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 I think I need to replce the contacts, it doesnot have enough emff to engauge the starter moter properly, the battery seems to be in good nick and I have tried with a spare just in case, but still no luck, however if jumped from another car it goes just fine. Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 12, 2009 Moderators Posted January 12, 2009 How good are both of those batteries? Checked for good connections? You say when you jump start it goes...could be a dodgy battery connection? Clean them all up and make sure they are all schmick! Get a multimeter and check while the engine is cranking. If it goes below 11 volts, replace your battery and/or check your starter's current draw. Quote
marty Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 rightyo, i'l give that a try thanks! Quote
