zed240au Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 hi dont know of anyone in victoria doing ls1 conversion everyone seems to say its not possible under victorian law saying 4.5 ltr v8 is biggest allowed in vic But that said i have done conversion in tasmania into 240z and know of 260z in south australia who has started conversion and has talked to engineer there plus another 240z in new south wales which has road authority approval and currently installing ls1 If you need and help or advice on the problems involved in ls1 conversion drop me a pvt happy to help anyway i can having already done it can short cut lot problems for you mick Quote
mrp69 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 from what ive been told my engineer is that to install a LS1 in NSW you must have a full length chassis to big mods and all the usual emission stuff from that motor. i will be starting my 304 holden motor in my 240z (VT SS commodore motor) but stroked out to 353. and that my engineer will sign off on with upgraded front brakes not rears so they can be drums and must have all emission stuff on the motor and exhaust eg cat convertor and charcoal canisters hope that helps but ring around and most are willing to give you the right answers p.s what engines you can put will depend on the engineer all have different opinions so find the one that suits you peter Quote
