I had my Charger soda blasted and found it no problems at all. Took the paint off with no distortion of panels, just had to be careful how much rust disappeared :o.

Made the body work pretty easy, just make sure you do something to protect the base metal, the charger was oiled to protect the metal, and then put into primer as soon as the repair work was completed. I have some surface rusting on the floor pan where no repairs or primer was sprayed, but POR15 will fix that when it goes back into the shop to be completed.

Soda will only remove the paint but not rust. For rust you'll need a bit of garnet after you've removed all the paint.

Probably the biggest thing to watch out for is making sure all the powder is cleaned off properly. You can feel if it hasn't been washed off totally because it makes the water feel a bit slimey when you wipe your hand over it.

I'd recommend giving it a couple of washes because when it dries you'll still get the odd bit of powder reappearing where it has trickled out of cracks.

I'm lucky enough to have a soda blaster in my charge at work....that and a full down draft spray booth.

Funny that an electronic tech is in charge of it but they boss knows of my interest in doing up cars so now I'm the spray painter and soda blaster.

Stripped my first car with chemicals.

My 240 will be getting the soda treatment.

Really $1600 for under body too?

Sounds like a quote for everything up to under body. But if that's what they quoted is a good price

Is it on rotisserie?

Who's doing it, are they in a shop or mobile?
