Where is the best place in Melbourne to get a 240Z workshop manual, original preferably?

I'm just starting to do the interior, and I've got some parts that I can't find where they go. Tough jigsaw puzzle.

Hi

the Haynes Manual seems to be the easiest one to get. Try Motor Book World

1013 Burke Rd Camberwell, 98132644 or motbkwld@smart.net.au.

New one should be around $50.

You cold post some pictures of the bits, I am sure between all of us you'll get the right answer.

Cheers

yes, as warren says, post up some pictures, we'll be able to tell you - I have the haynes manual for 240-260z, so I can probably take photos of the relevant pages if need be....

Yeah, just got another camera, so pictures of the car will be up soon.

I'll get that manual and post some pics if I need any help.

Is it possible to get the original material that covers the wheel arches to use as roof lining?

Going to see the upholsterer in the next few days to see about roof lining and recovering the seats I got from Sulio. Also, the carpet that covers the back portion of the car, is this to be glued down or just laid over the underfelt? Also, where's would be the best place to get the interior trim panel at the most rear of the car, on the right side, behind the wheel arch.

Thanks,

Jack.

IMO:

get all the literature u can get...

how to restore your datsun Z car, is a good book for what you are doing... easy reading heaps of pictures... get it from tech book shop in the city... www.techbooks.com.au

the haynes manul,,, is really good... but its more for mechnical stuff, with some interoir stuff....

and if you can find a datsun service manual... on ebay usually around 3-=60 you can pick one up for

the carpet in the back i would just lay down, as your spare wheel is under it....

Roof lining - any type of vinyl you want could be used as roof lining, just some are easier to glue/attach than others. I would say yes, definitely possible.

Trim panel - I don't know, but I need a LH one, as mine has had a piece chopped out for a speaker.... so if you find a good place, let me know :P

The Pitstop Bookshop in Perth has Factory Manual for zed's and the other manuals as well.

They arent in Melbourne but deliver by mail.

I have the factory manual, the Haynes one and How to restore your Z car by wick humble. Between them, everything is covered that I have come across so far.

I know how you feel zeddofile.

Most of my black trim pieces have had pieces cut out for sound system, and my replacements are brown. Unfortunately that one brown piece is broken. Will reply if I find the right place.

The haynes is crap IMO, its a bit lacking on info, and theres not too much on diagnoising problems. Basic stuff is ok, but dont ever use one to change a head, as the dimensions given for the timber to stop the timing chain tensioner coming out are wrong. Spend the extra $50 and get a Factory workshop manual, about $90+post from Pitstop (who are highly recommended)
