I knew this area had surface rust but after some digging it's a bit worse than I thought. I have cleaned it up and this is what I have. The pin holes on top don't worry me. The surface rust inside i think i can treat and cover with a por15 style product. The two sections behind the dash I wil cut out great and then weld in new metal but the section above the heater blower is properly rusted through. Advice on that part would be great. I have seen people unpick the top but I would like to avoid that if possible. Hard to see but in the first pic from under the heater blower that airway is rusted through quiet badly.
