G'day all,

I am envious of the parts markets that Melbourne residents seem to have at their finger tips.

I have recently been looking for some bulky parts and have held back because I am unsure about how to ship things like bonnets and tailgates etc

Can anyone provide some advice on the best ways to do this and rough costs??

Cheers

Mick

depends where you are etc... but i got some big stuff from bunderburg in QLD back to adelaide for $250. items were complete body kit for ba xr falcon. 2xside skirts front and rear bar and rear spoiler foglisghts grill etc....

other lot i got from sydney a set of 17"  rims a bonnet front bar headlights etc.. all on a pallet for $210

most stuff i purchased is from ebay.helps if u got relatives in each state so they can collect it all than when u get a big heap send it at once on a pallet through any of the smaller trucking companies. trick is collect as much crap as possible and stuff it on a pallet that way postage per item is lot cheaper.  it would have cost me to send 1 bar almost the same compared to complete kit.

i used Paloga transport. just check yellow pages, there is a depo in every state.

they also transport cars for lot less than autotrans, TNT and the likes. going or not going u pay by the space it takes on the truck.

if truck is going back empty u get even better deals.

hope that helps

So if I was just getting like a tailgate or a bonnet, will a courier company take it as is??

You would want it to be boxed up in some way to protect it, but yes, they will take it.
