dyty240z Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 hey guys, i am only 15 but but in the coming future i am planning to buy a stock 240z and put a rb 20 or 25 into it. just wondering whether anyone know if it will fit in the engine bay. have i got a chance??? thanks very much Marcus Dyt [/img] Quote
zedevan Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 yeah it fits, rather nicely i'd say. look on www.hybridz.org (they have a sectioned dedicated to it) or type rb into any zed site's search and ur sure to bring up something! there are 3? members here that have rb's, 2 rb20's and 1 rb25? 260z's are better to do it to to some degree as they are less special and stonger frame. if ur planning on a respray and stuff buy natez shell as it would be a great base to work from. i was in the same sort of boat as you, but didn't start on wanting a zed till i was 18 i guess, got one just before i was 19 but had aimed to do the conversion within 2 yrs...i'm about to turn 21, and it hasn't happened, u get to distracted with driving it and other things ofcourse... there was a guy in melb selling the required oil sump and engine mounts needed, but didn't have any gearbox ones last time i looked into it, and i was going to wait till his was engineered etc and go though the same guy for ease or doing so, but then got distracted by thinking 1jz, and 1uzfe, sr20...as there are so many options you have to decided if u care if its a nissan engine, and if u care if its a straight 6 Quote
sco_aus Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Hi mate, I have learnt the hard way to do it all, so I know the easiest ways to put at least an RB25 into a Z. PM me and if I dont know then I know a couple of people that can help aswell. Can also tell you advantages of different engines. Scott Quote
