DatPilot Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 WTB: WORKING injectors. I have a PILE of them that leak from the body. Last few purchases were all duds. I think they just go to crap after drying out??? Currently running a Fuel only ECU, rigged up to run VL turbo injectors. (270cc hose-tail) Injectors from a VG30et or L28et will do the same job. They need to be GUARANTEED to work. If they leak, I want my money back. Will pay good dollars for good product. Only other solution I can think of, is get a custom fuel rail fabbed up ($150 to $200) to suit the RB25de injectors (270cc low imp.) I have sitting here (which will need cleaning & testing anyway, at $240 for that alone, this is indeed an expensive option) Quote
kolonelklink Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I've used rb20det 270cc's no issues for over a year with EFI hose slid over the ends - they are cheap and good quality. use fresh o'rings on the backs and some of those circular fastener clips on each one. If it that doesn't seal well size down the o-ring a little bit and try again... you shouldn't have any trouble -pete Quote
DatPilot Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Cheers for that. I have a set of Rb units here, just thinking to get a fuel rail fabbed up so its easier to fix for next time... Quote
kolonelklink Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 In that case i recommend converting the RB's to tail hoses even moreso! it wont cost you anyhting and you know what you're getting. As for ease of fitment - its really a no-brainer, takes about 20 minutes to do and costs almost nothing in hose and clamps (you can reuse to circular clamps from the stock rail or buy new ones)... I can send you a photo if you like? It's seriously a really neat easy trick and unless you plan on exceeding the HP rating of the stock fuel rail i would strongly reccommend it from personal experience. *edit* I had a pic lying around afterall... they pretty much look like the stock injectors, not messy etc. anyway I'll stop info dumping... just passing on hint I found helpful. cheers, -pete Quote
pauly_adams Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 i might be interested in some pics of your setup is there any chance of you posting up some pics. cheers pauly Quote
kolonelklink Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 sorry pauly i edited the post before seeing your reply, pics above. Quote
pauly_adams Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 this looks heaps better than what i was going to do using 303cc supra injectors. are you running an aftermarket ecu or standed as i was wanting to change the air flow meter and throttle body with whilst using standed ecu i, also the injection looks heaps tidier with all the pollution crap gone. cheers pauly Quote
kolonelklink Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 aftermarket - running megasquirt. I reccomend it... so much easier than messing with changing resistance values in all your sensors. Quote
pauly_adams Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 yeh im looking into it but unsure of where to aquire a setup and cost of the setup. did you order your mega squirt in parts or a complete unit also what part numbers did you use. cheers pauly Quote
kolonelklink Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 we're threadjacking. sorry Datpilot!! i got a whole unit and modified it as required... best bet seems to be keep an eye open on US ebay and put up with the shipping. pm me if you have other questions i dont want to divert the OP's thread. -pete Quote
DatPilot Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 i ended up grinding a barb on teh shank of the o-ring injectors, and removed the o-ring. hose was warmed up a tad prior to sliding on which worked a treat. now with the clamps on... it aint going no-where. will see tonight if it leaks or not...
