matto Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 What's the consensus on Datto 280zx Tagra's- I'm looking at getting a couple to make 1 good one. Anyone got any advice for me. Will they be worth anything in th future ?? Matto Quote
. Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Yup, They have already bounced off their lowest price and are gradually getting more expensive. Just be sure you get one that is relatively rust free. Dashes are expensive to repair so try to get a good dash. All the rest can be repaired or replaced just like any other car. Quote
matto Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 Thanks - my strategy is to buy one good rust free if I can (Still looking) and I have sourced 2 for parts - 1 in the shed ($600 the lot 140K on motor) and one that I'm negotiating on -. Do you think that the 280zx will follow the lead of the 240s and 260!.s. Do you have any advice on sourcing parts wither locally or internationally?? Thanks again! Quote
Quandary Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Was never a fan of ZX's but the more I sit in them I think I'd probably enjoy having a Targa running because for me I would use one for purposes unique to other Z's. I think a good condition one in near original state will go up in value because they make for great weekend type tourers. They had the 80's mods and cons and good sound proofing that my 260 doesn't have which makes them passenger unfriendly. Source locally while parts are abundant and still fairly cheap but be patient and wait for the right things to come up. Also careful of eBay cos pictures are really deceiving. If you can, arrange to have a look at the items before bidding. I could show you some horrible before (eBay auction) / after (purchased) 280zx pics. Quote
matto Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks for the advice. I agree not to buy sight unseen. but seems there are a few bits and pieces around. I'll just keep looking - problem in Tas is there are just so few here!! MAtt Quote
