  1. So after the door was welded and grinded. A little bog and then primered. I then started on the front guard. I knew there was some bog in this guard but it came out ok. Then i moved to the rear quarter. As you can see its almost never been touched. There is a spot up the top of the pillar and a little down at the wheel well. Interesting this is this had never been sanded back before the bog was laid. So a little bit of rust repair and then its down to primer for it as well.
  2. As you may be able to see there were a few small rust holes in the door where the mirror sat. After a little bit of welding and grinding the door came up quite well.
  3. Howdy all. Well. it has been a ruff couple of months to be honest. Being sick, lots of pain from an accident a few years back has been making me stay away from the workshop. wish i hadn't have now. so we have some new pics. a few weeks back I started on the passanger door. As i started to take the paint off i realised it had never been touched before. So the second half of the door I used paint stripper so I could see how much was original and how much work had been put into this car. Well as I worked i realized the door was in great condition and only needed some work around the mirror. The door is that strait that I hardly had to do anything. These photos are her in the workshop. Just after getting stripped down.
  4. hey whats going on im interested in the whole lot. Im local so i can pick them up pritty soon. let me know if you wanna move them. my number is 0418682838.
  5. your ill take em of your hands.
  6. Well no pics at the moment. Been playing around a bit though. Appart from some major moving around in the workshop causing problems there has been some work on the 260z. passanger door was never touched and has almost no damage. little rust around where the mirror mounted up but its been looked after. so its all in primer. But it seems there maybe a ute in the workshop getting some repairs if everything goes to plan. the ute was damaged when the engine let got and put it into a wall. mostly front guards and bonnet.
  7. Sorry about the photo quality. I'm gonna buy a camera today and stop using my phone. lol.
  8. Morning all. Late yesterday evening at 8pm the 260z moved into the workshop for the first time. Not without a few dramas. The retreads on the right side were stuffed and had to be removed. So the back wheel of the left side found its way to the right front and 2 old bluebird wheels found their way on the back. But it didn't stop there. The left drum handbrake had locked on. So after a little playing around and messing around the car made it in. So does this mean the pulsar is finished. Well not really. Seems my suplier who suplied me with the gearbox doesn't know how to order the right driveshaft. The only thing missing. So 8 last night the 260z started the disassembly process. 4 hours later at midnight I decided to turn the workshop off and go to bed. A few pics of the car will show you how fare I got with it. There is some rust we didn't pick up on when it was sitting in the long grass. But nothing that can't be fixed. There are a few pieces missing but some we can make up for. So far the missing parts list is. Carb setup, All the badges (thanks to someone who figured they needed them more). Chrome gutter on drivers side. Bumpers. Appart from that its not in bad shape. Todays deal will to be to continue to strip her down and maybe get her on a rotisserie.
  9. G'day mate. Good to see another person in this world that wants to get into a car for restoration. There are alot of people out there that just want one that they can drive away. Well i wish you all the best mate. Hope you find a car for a good price and a good fixup. Angelus
  10. I was all excited thinking he owned a z. So disapointed. Well Actually I'm not that disapointed.
  11. Battery area in post 3 pic 3. looks pritty good around the battery area almost no rust. there is a small bit in one of the corners towards the guards but you do have to look to see it. Around the hinges seem good atm have a better look when the bonnet comes off.
  12. Evening all. So we took delivery last night of the 260z. Started pulling Rubbish out like sheep skin seat covers and original worn out carpet. Just general cleanup. Looking pritty good for the moment.
  13. Im looking for some bumpers and badges for my 260z
  14. do you have any bumpers
  15. Pic #1. Engine bay. Pic #2. Is of the frame around the Door. More to come
  16. Hi All. Went to get some parts from a place around the corner from where the 260z was today and decided because i had to wait for the parts to be ready i would go and talk to the guy again. So I turned up went an talked to him. He gave me the keys and I started taking a deeper look. My Mate who runs his own panel beating shop came across the road to have a look as well. Puller the door trims off. and found only light spots of rust nothing that has set in as of yet. Around the door frame is pritty much the same with light surface spotting and a little bit of surface down the bottom with all the dust and dirt. The battery Box is still in great condition with no rust on it. the frame throught the car looks good with only rust along some scratches. Inside the wheel wells it looks clean not dirt deposits which meens no bad rust. the floor looks great except for behind the drivers seat where there is probably the most surface rust in the car. The boot is impressive with the only rust been in the wheel well. Mark had a good look over some other parts around the seals and along the kick panels re said its all surface from stones under the kick panels and non around the seals. He also told me I should be able to knock the bonnet out without a problem. He was impressed at the car and the price. So for a car that is costing me $350 delivered im not complaining. Its starting to look like the next one to go into the workshop. Less rust to deal with suits me for the time been. pic #1. inside frame of care around the door. pic #2 Rust on floor behind the drivers seat. Pic #3 is of the battery bay. Pic #4 is of the spare wheel well
  17. Its all cool. i had another go today and gave him the money for it because i was getting some parts from around the corner. Mark was keen to tell me what was wrong with it. so he came down to have a look too. well about an hour later he turns to me and says how much you paying. I said 350 with a machined l28 crank and a 280 head light bucket and anything else he finds in his shop. Mark goes the damage to the front is the worst part. i think its original paint on most of it and its f&*^ing strait. The worst rust i can see is behind the drivers seat and thats nothing. So we tapped some rust spots under the doors and we recon its just from stone chips.

  19. G'day all. Yes i know i Have a 280zx thats awaiting some work but i have now picked up a 260z 2+2. Not sure of the plans right now. Probably a build close to original or something. See how it pans out and whats involved once its in my Workshop. Will get some more information on it when i go there tomorrow to make sure of everything.
  20. Hey mate good to see another person building up a car. It may be a lot of work mate but when you are finished you will be thankfull you did it because you will respect it more. Well I look forward to seeing the progress you get done. Good luck man.
  21. Hey Mate. Yeah looking good mate. Cheap guns will do that to ya. Yeah i learnt the hard way. Keep up the good work mate.
  22. Actually yes its in queanbyan. The guy had it in a shed but he is selling up. I noticed it in the grass a couple of weeks back while at a mates place. Actually i think i was with sco_aus at the time. The guys nuts he has grills for 120y and 200b still in the original datsun boxes. But he is shipping them up to queensland with him. Apparently he ran a shop at one time and yeah sells all the left over bits on ebay. not much z stuff from what i can see though. But he has been trying to sell this and no buyers untill i walked in. Yeah she is a late model with 2.6L looks like e80 head which does excist I have seen 2 of them and no one seems to know anything about them. Except that they are australian only. Maybe needs a new carb manifold setup. Pulled carpet up throughout the car a little surface rust on the floor under the drivers seat the spare wheel well in good nick no rust in the boot didnt look like any bad rust in the rest of the car. Apparently an r300 diff (i think thats what he said) and a box worth $350 (will find out what it is). Paint has some form of dust all over it rubbed it with my finger and seemed to still be alright under it all but its baiked on. had a small front bingle. got told he ran into the shelves at the workshop so all panel. He said he use to start it all the time but took the carbs off for another engine. Be interesting to see what we find when we get it back to my workshop. As for the 280 I'm not sure what im doing atm. Im Gonna assess the situation of both cars when i get it back into the workshop. The 280 has a lot of things to fix. Plus some modifications. This 260 may be more a stocker and may be quicker. So far the pulsar ended up back in the workshop about 3 weeks ago. The pic at the bottom was as of a week ago. Now there is lights and bumpers and everything back on and the engine is assembled and ready to go back in so should see it running early next week. first start up may actually be tomorrow. so In 3 weeks the pulsar went from being stock painted, rubbed back painted and assembled with no badges and door locks.
  23. G'day all. Opps i just bort a 260z 2+2. hmm gotta stop buying cars faster then I can get them through the workshop. meh oh well. Yes looks a little worse for wear but thats what i like to come into my shop. we shall see what will happen with it.
