    Great buy!
I have been after a 2 seater 280ZX for ages.
So lucky I was away on holidays and not aware of this auction happening!
Looks to be a series 1(as the year suggests), but has series 2 tail lights.
If ever you decide to sell.......

    Hi All,
Not a member but occasionally have a look over here.

road rider got a reaction from Zedhead in The Weatherstrip Kit Thread 240/260Z
Have been searching for a weatherstrip kit for my 240Z and thought I would share what I have found so far.

Some of the kits are very expensive but contain more seals than others.
Then there are others that are more cost effective, but don't have as many seals included.
Most kits include seals for the 260Z that are not needed on the 240Z. This is the trade off when you are buying a 'kit'.

I'll start with Rare Spares here in Oz. I was quite surprised at their pricing, A$824.78 Thought it a little on the expensive side.
    http://www.rarespares.net.au/rarespares/ProductPage.aspx?product=DAT19

Z Car Depot has a similar kit for US$249 plus shipping.
    https://zcardepot.com/weatherstripping/kits/weatherstriping-kit-rubber-seal-240z-260z-280z-70-78.html

A ebay seller. But reading this guys feedback seems to suggest the seals are made in Thailand but shipped from the USA.
    Price US$289 plus shipping US$65.20

This kit has the window chanel bits included, from Motorsportauto.com Price US$319.95 plus shipping.
    http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/34-2000

California Datsun have kits with the window channel bits included also for US$320 plus US$75 for shipping
    https://www.californiadatsun.com/weatherstrip-rubber-seals/rubber-weatherstrip-seal-kit-240z-260z-280z-70-78.html

Z Car Source has a deluxe kit with a few extra bits(window channel, weatherstrip rivets and adhesive) for US$419 plus shipping.
    http://www.zcarsource.com/weatherstrip-kit-deluxe-plus-240z-260z-280z-70-78-coupe-new-kit_8_56652_63752.html
They also have other kits avail at different price points depending what you may need.

This kit from Vintage Rubber.com is by far the most expensive one out there, but is the most comprehensive as far as providing just about all seals for your Z.
    Price US$1300 plus shipping.
    http://www.vintagerubber.com/Datsun240ZFullRestoKit-1-1.aspx

There are still OEM seals available but they do not come in kits. Probably the best way to go but it soon gets a little pricey when you start to add up all the bits
    and pieces.

Hope this helps anyone looking for a seal kit or if you have any suggestions please feel free to add to the list.

    Cheers,
    Sean.

Z32's are at their low point in values right now. I suspect they will pick up in value soon. Supra's, RX-7's, Skylines have already started to increase in values. These have lagged a bit.

The car stacker is one thing, but the cars stacked within blew me away!
That's a shed that dreams are made of.....if only there were a few Z's.

The seller isn't selling cause he needs cash for another project or anything.
Hence the asking price, throw it out there and see what happens!
If he gets it, it can only be a good thing for other R100 owners.

So I figured I should start a project journal (now there is actually some progress happening)
I got a 240Z 15ish years ago, wrecked a few others for some bits and pieces then realised after stripping off all the paint and badly putting in some floors realsied that the whole task was well beyond my ability. (It was bent and rusty) As a broke uni student it got abandoned in my dad's shed sitting on its side on a rotisserie for the next 14ish years.

Fast forwards to earlier this year when Paul rang me and said bring it up and they would start to play. My dad was only too keen to get it out of his shed and promptly loaded it onto a trailer and delivered it to Paul (Classic Customs) and this is where the magic has begun. Its been an amazing process to watch and its always awesome to drop in and see the work they are doing.

The plan was always for flares and a G Nose (which was sourced through HS30-H 10+ years ago) and sat in my bedroom since then.

See attached photos. Its at the stage where I have done absolutely nothing as its all been done by the professionals.

Dad getting the car out of the shed (co incidentally with another car I abandoned there 5+ years ago...)

    Arriving in its sad state

    That escalated quickly

Its a lot further along now, and now I've found the memory stick with photos on it, Ill keep uploading a few.

Can anyone recommend a high quality weatherstrip adhesive available in Australia?

There was a really nice example of a 260Z 2 seater on carsales.com a few months back for $35,000
Silver in colour and had a restoration already done.

The blue 260Z for $21,000 seems like a good buy on the surface but It's going to cost to restore properly.

Makes me wish I had jumped on the silver one!
