Seat vinyl grain

I am reupholstering my seats from my 260z and was wondering if someone could tell me how strong the grain is in the vinyl in their car. Is it smoother on the sides and headrest and then more grainy on the striped bit in the middle because the upholsterer has made it quite heavily grained over the whole front and it looked a bit odd?

Yes there is a difference in the grain, but I can't remember which way it goes, I think the outer panels were smoother!?

i would go look at the seats so i can answer u better but they are now under the house...

 

i think its rougher in the middle bit, i always had covers on so i dont know...and then i think 240z's are different again? so mayb its dependant on the yr of 260 also?

my 240 seats have rougher grain in the middle section and smooth on the outsides.
