Zorro
The Fleet Air Arm is well worth a visit - great displays ( including interactive auto displays) . There are also simulators where you can "fly" a helicopter or plane using electronic controls and a 3D monitor inside an actual aircraft/helicopter cockpit. The Z Car Club of Sydney visited here in June 2017. Zorro XXCapt Bazza.docx Edited July 5, 2019 by Zorro deleted by accident
Zorro
Hi Auszcar members, Sorry about the directions in miles rather than kms. My computer doesn't seem to want to download the more "ordinary" Google directions/maps for some reason. Anyway, for you 240Z pilots with rear drum brakes, no power steering or air conditioning - it is somewhat nostalgic and topical. Hope you can make it to the 21st July excursion. gav240z

Zorro
Hi Auszcar members, Just a final point on this excursion - the Z Car Club of Sydney is pretty flexible when it comes to wheels. Providing it is not a "display" event like Shannons, Gannons etc - if for any reason your Zed is feeling poorly - please feel free to bring another vehicle -it's all about bums on seats ( this is meant, of course in the nicest possible way!) Kind regards
Zorro
Update Every one who attended this excursion thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was a little coolish - but fine. The Fleet Air Arm Museum was excellent with great displays , videos and interactive devices. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal at the Bomaderry Bowling Club. The drive along the given route was pretty sporty with fairly light traffic.

PeterAllen
Some memories there. I worked on a few of those aircraft in the 60s. At the height of our involvement in Vietnam there was only one Iroquois which was fully serviced, the rest had components which were over their service hours. But I guess Gary and the rest of you long-haired, button-pushing layabouts wouldn't know how tough it was for baby-boomers! theremm, gav240z and OdinZ
