Wags
Another photo this afternoon. Look at the back of this! So in the photo…we have the hatch on with the restored strut and fittings, the brand new lights and lenses, brand new number plate light, painted taillight panel section, and the beautifully polished stainless light surrounds which Locky was working on for ages to get spot on! Wags
Some more stunning photos from Locky and the fine people at CAR. the rear of the new headlights and the brand new side mirror that I bought new from a chap in middle America. Totally worth the cost in my mind. Mike_F, CBR Jeff and gav240z
Mike_F
Nice! I'm still in two minds as whether to do the great looking but impractical fender mirrors, or to use the door mirrors that the car actually came with... What were the determining factors for going with the door mirrors for you?

Wags
I heard there is a degree of regret that comes free with fender mirrors. gilltech, CBR Jeff, C.A.R. and 1 other

We are doing the boot yes. Doors…I’m unsure if that’s necessary. I have heard that sound deadener behind where the speakers mount give you an amazing sound but they are just in the boot for my build and not in the doors. C.A.R.
I'm not going to worry about the doors - they are new and made of slightly thicker steel. Also getting the self adhesive deadener in there would be a right PITA... I'll will however stick some in the 1/4 panels to mitigate any 'drumming'. I did to mine and It makes a massive difference. I put two strips about 100mm high. Not too difficult

Yep it is a PITA, but somewhat easier on the later 260z doors as the bottom opening is larger. It certainly makes the door sound much more solid when it is closed, hard to tell about the noise-thermal benefit though. 8 hours ago, scotta said: I put two strips about 100mm high. Thanks nick Fitment and quality is 'OK' - they could be better but that's what we have. If I was to do this again, I'd use new Kia Sorrento door seals. Screen rubbers I'd get from Rob at the ZFactory.
