Love the description "body has surface rust". Given the hole at the rear left I'm pretty sure it's not confined to the surface!

Yeah gotta be a 260z 2+2 - very unlikely it would be a 280z 2+2 and it's definitely not a 280zx.

Not a bad price considering the cost to build similar and it has an L28 turbo! Which is an odd choice for such a replica. Then again the sunroof is also an odd idea.

After a quick look at the photos, especially the OS Sill and Dogleg  :o, I can't help but wonder what else is hiding under that shiny Blue paint ?

Pretty cool 240z import, First owner was an Aussie who bought it new while working in japan. 1 year later imported it back to aus, the second owner has owned it since 2003.

asking 33k, looks reeeal purdy.

Very nice, shame the owner never signed up here and shared the car with us. Front grill has been changed to the export market style. Note it's a Fairlady 240z meaning it has an L24 motor (not L20) and would be stamped with a chassis prefix of HS30 as opposed to just S30.

Other cool details are the light covers, rally clock, the flare for passenger footwell (that's a real JDM thing), no bumper overriders, flasher switch in the dash, Z badge instead of Datsun on bonnet, passenger footwell / panic bar ;) - we only got that in the 260z's here. Carbs don't look like Hitachi's, looks like somthing else and the air box has the flapper (which I'm not sure if that's original to the JDM cars or not?) I've seen it on the US models a lot.

The more I look at it the more I like it, if it's a solid rust free car. Well worth asking price in my opinion.

I can't recall seeing many original Z's like this for sale in Australia.

Sadly owner paid $1500 for new door cards, could have got them a bit cheaper than that!

It's a known car amongst the Roadster community.

Priced about right.

The 1600cc SP311's are fetching higher prices, and tatty 2000cc SR311's are fetching around the $20k mark.

Way way fewer of all of these, and much rarer than any S30 Z

If you're keen grab that one.

Most of us are sitting on 3-4 of them, and too wary to sell.

You've no idea how tempted I am to drive up this weekend and drive away with it. It would keep me busy while the 240 gets built but that's also the problem - it will distract me...

George when I lived in Dublin a Fairlady Roadster was on the market, I was tempted at the time and in some ways regret not buying it now. I went for the FD RX-7. Thing is I think it looks like a steal at that price, so even if you only used it a few times a year. Insurance will be cheap, registration = cheap (classic). So in a few years if you decide to move on I don't think you would loose any value in it. Of course the other half might have something to say about it. :P

Short video of the same car here:

If you want a 2 seater ZX this is your chance I suppose. Quite a rare car these days in Australia.
