HS30 11243 More photos of it in the registry/gallery. Bonnet has definitely had a love tap at some point, leading edge looks "thicker" than factory steel, suggesting a bit of nikki (body filler). Th Orange one for 120K seems about right as long as the restoration was done properly. 90k to 100k is about the price for a full restoration including running gear, wiring, interior, suspension, wheels/tyres import over night parts from Japan. 240ZBUILTBYME
I’m not so sure the 240z/260z is worth over 100k yet. Maybe a concourse level one? One day though it will happen, and then none of us will want to drive them anymore…

One day though it will happen, and then none of us will want to drive them anymore… I think that's already happened, we're seeing prices slightly softened from those peaks at the moment. There were cars (not 432s or early models) in the US and Japan well into AUD100k+ since about 2021 or so that Gav has documented in the global sales thread. Yeah im aware there have been cars sold for over 100k, but they would have been either mint original cars or concourse restorations. Im more referring to a run of the mill restoration or everyday car that actually gets used. They’re not worth over 100k.

There have been dozens of sales in the US of well restored oem spec cars over $100k USD. There have been more than a few RHD cars sold for over $100k AUD, a mix of oem and oem+ and highly modified. Every car is different, and will be worth a different amount of money to different people. JDM-TOY, OdinZ, gav240z and 1 other

The Japanese market 432 and 240ZG's for example. But even in North America the earliest cars have been getting 6 figures for a while. I don't know if this car is 'mint', but it is nice. $160,000 USD. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-101/ But different markets of classic cars are doing different things at the moment. The 90s JDM bubble appears to be popping. Just as night follows day, there is still a lot of those cars out there. Unlike S30z's which are quite rare by comparison these days and often require a lot of cash to restore the bodies on. Which I think will help them maintain values over the 90s stuff in the short term. Longer term the 90s stuff will come back again, but not before everyone goes broke first due to a global recession. ptZcar, JDM-TOY and AndBir

Probably can't count this 1, because it was a charity / money raising auction. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-229/ $124,000 USD. ~$188,192.44 AUD at today's exchange rate (thanks RBA).
