RB26DETT
Also that bracket on the inner skirt near the engine bay inspection light makes me think its not an early car or has had panels replaced.
Mr Camouflage
Definitely had a major front end replacement on that green 240Z. It has a 260Z front end. That bracket is for mounting the charcoal canister for the 260Z emissions systems.
curtis 240z
Chasis number 1036, and yes you are right it did have a front ender and had an l28. I was offered the car but it was a big project and had been under water. good luck to the new owner, it was still a cheap 240z. gav240z

Nah but the price has been dropped to $11,500 I think the price needs to come down a bit more before that sells. Theres a nice looking 260Z for $10,000. If I had the money I'd be after that. It's an auto, but thats easily remedied. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/croydon/cars-vans-utes/1976-datsun-260z-coupe-2-seater/1091185950
Administrators gav240z Posted October 7, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted October 7, 2015 Here is another "It was a good idea at the time" project for someone. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/langwarrin/cars-vans-utes/datsun-240z-convertable/1091439386 It looks like an early 240z (71) chassis number not listed. You'll need a roof turret, some rear 1/4 panels and a "Ledge" to put this 1 right. Asking $8,000.00 Negotiable Langwarrin, VIC Says it's unregistered. If anyone calls, please get the chassis number. 1971 240z convertible, in average condition, some paint flaking and a few rust bubbles but overall in reasonable condition. Administrators gav240z Posted October 7, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted October 7, 2015 Yeah it's an odd 1, last few 240z's that have been listed (3 this last week) have all been taken down within a couple of hours. Is there a mad rush on? FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) ?
dat240z
$8k is a bargain for that
Administrators gav240z Posted October 7, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted October 7, 2015 Ad is back up. If the rest of the car is straight and relatively minor rust I could see $8k being a good price with a view to putting the lid back on it. I'd be interested to know what number it is. andyk_79
OK - I admit that there is something VERY wrong with me.......... but I kinda like the convertible look. I've seen some shocking conversions (of other cars) before but this one at face value appears to have been semi-reasonably executed.
dat240z
Yeah i'm in the same boat and it looks fairly clean however if I bought it I would put the roof back on it. I wonder what condition the body is like?

It certainly appears to be: Motor is original, low count 251 off the production line with matching numbers. It does need a tune. So it actually sounds like not a bad deal for someone looking to restore it. HS30 00251 with matching numbers L24 perhaps? Interesting...good find. I would honestly love a convertible S30, I know it isn't original and I would probably end up restoring it but hey, there's no rush to put a top on
brent012
The roof line and rear quarter windows are possibly the best looking parts on an S30 imo - can't believe anyone would cut them off! Andrew_L26
