Nice pickup Peter.

Do you have a plan for the engine yet? Stick with the Holden or going Nissan?

I must confess to looking at a Bolwell of two before I purchased the Z. A friend has a Pidgeon pair of Nagari’s, lucky bugger.

Jeff. I'll stick with the 202 it comes with. If I was going to do anything I would have swapped to a 302 Windsor as that was the alternative to the red motors in the day. If I want to get the heart racing I'll drive the GTO, the Bolwell is for gentle drives down memory lane.

It'll be interesting to find out the prices and availability of 70s Holden bits.

Hi Peter.

A good mate of mine is about to start the long process of clearing out his late fathers house.

His father drove a HK Belmont wagon for about 30 years and has an accumulation of parts for that car in the garage and subfloor.

No one is really sure exactly what is down there, but I did see a complete cyclinder head stored in oil a few years back.

I will be helping Ian clear it all out, so will drop you a note at the time (easterish) if there is anything decent.

Cheers

PB

Researching is proving difficult as these cars seem to have lost favour over the last decade or so (and owners died off) and there are no active forums.

Forums are so last century, Theres a facebook group, Its the SA Bolwell club, but seems to be the only group for them.

Bit of an update. (I believe Photobucket is now charging and images could be lost so I'll just include photo direct to the post)

Separated the body from the chassis.

Stored the body under the rear patio - will probably be there for a couple of years,

Tried to sell the V6 on eBay but got no takers. I had to pay somone $50 to take it away.

Inspected the chassis.

Bought a Straight Six block to set the engine mount locations, etc.

Picked up some 'cheap-as-chips' Hotwires to work on the suspension. I'm not sure what wheels will be on the finished car.

Couldn't believe it when i found some genuine Bolwell seats for sale. talk about Rocking Horse manure.

Measured all the engine goodies which were included, e.g. Nice roller rockers.

Think I'll go with a 186 rather than a 202. Better suited to the triple Webers I've been told.

Either Gavin has changed his name and I wasn't told, or has senility started to kick in Pete?!

Nice pick up Peter, a friend had a midnight blue 302 Windsor powered one in the 80’s, I believe it’s still in storage after all these years

look forward to seeing this progress ;)
