Administrators gav240z Posted August 29, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2015 Do you know where it was imported from? Is it an ex-Australian car? What motor is in it now?
GongZ
Do you know where it was imported from? Is it an ex-Australian car? What motor is in it now? I think there may be a hint in M3240z's user name. gav240z
GongZ
Hi M3240z and welcome to the forum - nice car! I notice that the 240Z's next to your car in each photo (i.e. the midnight blue and white 240Z's) don't have indicators in the front guards. I believe that HS30-H has said that they were a requirement in the UK. Do you know if these cars are ex-Aussies too? (they were not fitted to any Australian delivered 240Z's)
Moderators PB260Z Posted August 29, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 29, 2015 I think there may be a hint in M3240z's user name.certainly looks a lot like a BMW 6 with that angle and rocker cover.

RB26DETT
The white car is LHD so I would guess it wouldnt be Australian delivered car.
GongZ
The white car is LHD so I would guess it wouldn't be Australian delivered car. Good point, I missed seeing that - I wonder if it has had the indicators 'shaved' then? I have never seen an unmodified LHD 240Z without the fender mounted indicators before. Administrators gav240z Posted September 1, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted September 1, 2015 Just updated first post as a few images were broken after the forum move and a couple of links to external images died. I'm trying to save photos that are externally located because I can't control those and it's best if people upload their photos here that way they don't break later. Until I come up with the final solution which will be a registry that has a gallery / album attached for each car. Still a work in progress... GongZ
Should probably try and PM him and see what happened and what number it was... Am I correct in assuming that sending a PM means that the user gets a notification on the email address they registered with when they joined AusZcar? I sent a message to the OP of this topic because he had not logged on here since the new owner made himself known, but no reply ; http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12233-trying-to-find-my-old-240z/
Administrators gav240z Posted September 1, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted September 1, 2015 Yes they should get an email depending on preferences but if they used a throw away email and never check if I guess they won't see it. Shame because I would love to know what happened to it. Very rare in white with blue interior.

GongZ
240z #60 is listed for $20,000 AUD on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/DATSUN-240Z-HS30-1970-Chassis-00060-matching-numbers_W0QQitemZ4627235169QQcategoryZ102220QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemI don't want to put down the owner, however I want to know what everyone else's opinion on this is? Keep in mind that in Japan these cars easily fetch alot of coin.I think he's hoping for an international buyer like from Japan or maybe even the US or UK? For someone in the UK it's only really about $10k maybe even less.It looks like it would need a bit of work to be show room presentable though, although i've seen plenty worse. NickF
I got the car mid 1997 with the intension of tiding it up The PO used it as a daily driver it came without plates so I put it in the shed then nothing. Been sitting there for nearly twenty years. I've never driven it! Needs paint and seats recovered a little panel rust?? don't have any badges. Dash needs repairing engine needs freshen up Most of the rust has been previously repaired, looks OK Has Fairlady grille, chromed rim headlight covers and 6/6.5x14 Watanabes Sound too easy should have done it years ago.
