oldmates260z
Sorry, always go against the trend....silver or black is OK but need to break it and match with bumpers
PZG302
Black with polished rim, or gold with polished rim.....

Administrators gav240z Posted February 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 22, 2015 Desperately I want a set of Kobe Seiko wheels for my 240z, I love them in black on the Rally Cars of the period. So another +1 can't go wrong with black wheels on a red Z.
reverendzed
seems that black has the overwhelming support at the moment!
Six_Shooter
Anything but black. BTW, what is the model of wheel (in the OP)? I know they are a semi-popular wheel for the S30, but the more I see them, the more I'm considering them.
chris240
Gunmetal spokes and highly polished outer rim, or gold spokes and polished outer...not a fan of painted outers. Getting tired of black. Gold is the new black !
sydney mike
Polished or solid colour? I must admit, I am becoming a bit of a "wheel-whore". My Zed recently received another "boob-job" 15x7, 205/60/15 SSR Mk3: 16x8, 205/55/16 Wats-"raw" alloy: 16x8 215/50/16 Wats painted gunmetal: gav240z
Cozza
I like black but, your car looks great with all those wheels Mike. It seems you can't go wrong
Administrators gav240z Posted February 25, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 25, 2015 Agreed but I actually prefer the Watanabe's on a Silver car in black. Makes me think I should change my FD wheels to black (Silver Car).
boyblunda
Mike Outstanding shots that provide a valuable basis for a comparison of the options. For mine, and this is a question that I have been considering for some time, if I have to choose one option it would be the polished lip with the painted centre OR if it is the original 260Z or 280ZX iron cross options, the painted recesses and the polished raised sections. However, in the options presented by Mike, any one of those pics suits the car and would be okay with me. I agree that some car colours do not mix as well with some options. Tough choice. Great question. Dave

Administrators gav240z Posted February 26, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 26, 2015 http://garagesanmaru.com/?page_id=79 I see you guys figured out where to drill holes for fender mirrors eventually? Looks good with Black Wheels.
sydney mike
Cheers Mick & Dave for the kind words. I think all black for the Wats are an improvement over the raw alloy/silver ones on my zed, because of it (the car)being silver and blending in. I also considered just painting the centres gunmetal but I am happy with all gunmetal(watanabe black). Dave, I think you're on to something. When I have time I might start a picture thread (or someone else can) with pics of zeds, preferably their own or net-sourced pics if they are certain of the wheel/tyre specs to help members make the decision on what size wheel and tyre combo's they like. I have searched for ages, could not find any pics of a S30 with gold SSR Mk3's so this might help others in a similar situation. cheers, Mike.
