Mickboy Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Hi. I am starting to gather the components to do a auto to manual conversion and was just wondering if I need to swap tail shafts. Thanks. Quote
Mickboy Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Sweet. Thanks heaps for the help. Quote
Mickboy Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 For starters happy new year everyone Now I have started to work on my auto to manual conversion and I have realised my manual box has a flange that bolts to the tail shaft. My question is do I now find another tail shaft to suit or find another gearbox to suit my tail shaft or can I modify my shaft. When I bought it I didn't realise there were 2 different ones. Quote
MaygZ Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Photo please. It's my understanding that you can use your auto shaft with the manual box. Quote
benny Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 You've got an an early flange type box so need an early 240Z driveshaft. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted January 1, 2015 Moderators Posted January 1, 2015 You've got an an early flange type box so need an early 240Z driveshaft. Is there anyone looking for early "Flange" box who has a shaft box to trade ? Are the shifters in the same place for all boxes ? Which box type (A,B or C) has the most suitable location - over to the experts for that one Quote
Mickboy Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks. Would it be easier to find a shaft box or flange tail shaft. I am quite happy to swap the box for what I need or buy a tail shaft yo suit or just buy a box with a shaft. So if any one has something that might suit hit me up. Thanks again. Quote
benny Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 IIRC the flange box is the best one to get in the "standard" range as it has a fairly CR gearset. Someone will have a tailshaft kicking about just put up a WTB. Quote
