Mmmmm....was expecting something a bit more creative from these guys

Least I'm not the only one thinking that...

You're not definitely not the only one. Main thing I took away was them having to get rid of the of the motor and gearbox to import.

I personally would have preferred them to find an L6 locally instead of the RB

If they had done something out there people wouldn't of liked that either.

Interesting work around none the less

Next time I see them in person I'll tell them that the S30Z community is disappointed. :D

They have come into the office a couple of times for Youtube related events.

Yeah I have to say I really like these Canadian Mighty Car Mods guys. I got caught up watching quite a few of their videos last night. I should have been in bed.

The weld repairs are a little "how ya going" but I admire his tenacity and considering the rusty heap he started with not bad. Plus it's better sheet metal work than what he had to begin with.

I must say it made me want a Roadster. I mean I've wanted 1 for years, but now I really want 1.

Go for it Gav, variety is the spice of life.

I saw that one on Nat Geo last night in Jakarta.

Wasn't a bad show, but the "scamming and scheming" to get shit done quickly gets real old real quick.

Also, was interesting to see how they approached the car in the beginning, saying you are better off doing the mechanicals first and then the body. Not the way I have seen most cars done, especially a Zed, and as we all know the mechanicals are very easy in comparison.

But was good to see the panel fit was typically Zed, gaps and lines between the bonnet, guards and sugar scoops weren't the best and the drivers door didn't look to line up well.

But it was a nice car in the end and the Jenvey throttle bodies looked a nice bit of kit. Would be interesting to see what the cost compared to a set of tripples would end up being in total, i.e. hardware, computer, wiring and tuning in comparion to the three carbies, and time setting up and tuning including proper jetting and so on.

I've found the show has improved over time, they did an Aston Martin DB6 - episode I watched last night and it was done really well. They also did a good job on a fairly rotten BMW 2002 Turbo. It was as rotten as many S30Z's we've seen. :D

I just saw this on facebook:

http://datsunspirit.com/shop/dsi-50mm-itb-setup/

In addition to the base kit, the comprehensive kit includes: (We highly recommend the comprehensive kit)

* DSI Big port manifold gasket (perfect match to this manifold as well as to the DSI Stage-4 & Stage-5 engines)

* Throttle Position Sensor

* Fuel Injectors (data matched). 445cc standard. (upgradable to larger)

* Fuel rails (AN 6 fittings on the ends)

* DSI ITB Heat shield Ver.III

* DSI special stainless steel balance tube, AN fittings & braided hoses

* MAP sensor & mounting bolts

* Throttle cable bracket

* Throttle cable

* Carbon fiber Air horns

Plus you will need an engine management system

Anyone watching "Fastest Car" on Netflix? I'm up to the episode with John Wayland and his white zombie Datsun.

It's an interesting series regardless of if you're into drag racing or not.

Bit weird they added Gasoline sounds to his Datsun 1200 though haha.

I finished it the other night, I find it interesting that they changed False Starts, everyone was allowed one False Start before DQ, then they changed it to, you False start and your out.

I also think it is quite staged (no pun intended) though. But not a bad watch.

Yeah I was gutted, that Datsun and the RX-2 had the potential to win the series (from what I've seen so far), the Datsun is a 10 second car (low 10s) and the RX-2 possibly a 9 second car... Everything else at best has been high 10's.

But I agree the rules are definitely not evenly applied and the cry baby in the blue truck in the episode before who stalled on the line should have lost.. The black fella in the Buick should have won fair and square if the other got disqualified.
