WTB L24/L26/L28 Running condition

Good afternoon all,

 

I'm looking at driving down to victoria starting from the 23rd of feb.. (a week and a half)

 

I've booked hotel room and planned the whole holiday around having the zed.

 

The other day it started running really rough, just on 5 cyls.

It's down at the mech's and I just got the call that cyl 4 is less then 80psi where the rest are on 130-150

 

I might just be looking at rings/bearings but it might not end there. I'm looking at getting the l24 rebuilt but was planning on doing it at a later date.

 

Has anyone got a spare L series I could buy outright or even rent for awhile? I'm up in brisbane and would be looking at it getting freighted here or picking it up. I need it by early next week to have any chance of fitting it in.

I have one spare at the moment it just needs finishing off, has new rings, bearings etc if you get stuck let me know I could reassemble it in a couple of days.

Got a running L26 in Melbourne as well..

Depending on how bad my l24 is the car gods may have thrown me a fern.

Mechanics that buy alot of batteries off work are oddly quiet next week and for pistons+rings+bearings+timing chain+guide+gaskets+clutch+master cyl+all labour I'd be looking at around 2k and done before next friday!
