Scoota G
On the weekend a club member suggested that my secret project was not so secret and well, that got me thinking. Is the greater moment in life not suprise but the anticipation of a single moment.? This is all i can give you!
madz
Haha, life's about the journey, not the destination, will be nice to read about this on the forum now

oldzguy
Casite Motor Honey is a good additive for old tired engines, or an excellent assembly lube for a new engine. Available through Federal Mogul engine parts suppliers years ago so, 302/351 Cleveland then?
Retro Z
Given the bonnet and 8 pistons..i believe its going to V8 muscle
FuzzyDropbear
I was wondering when word would eventually get out You'll have to put up some body shots to show off some of those repairs. And I'll have to come around and check out the bonnet mod

Scoota G
I purchased this one around Christmas 2010, it is a Jan 1975 2+2. It cost $650 delivered, was 90% complete and came with 2X L28's. The goal is to complete this car for $5000, it is getting a 302 V8. Originally i swapped my old PA system for a motor which had over $2000 in machining and parts. I have since purchased another because i was missing all ancillaries, this was to be fitted into a Ford but then a 260Z V8 conversion kit came up on ebay which i purchased just for the extractors. Then a few months later this 2+2 showed up on ebay and i snapped it up. Since then it has had the chassis modified and all rust removed, the engine bay is painted and i have also modified the bonnet. It also came with a spare roof. The car will be ready for paint in 3-4 weeks and then reassembled. I will have the car ready for the upcoming Christmas BBQ but it may be in 6 Cylinder format for rego purposes.
Scoota G
Time for a weekly update. The diff came out and was painted then refitted. Exciting hey! Until i have the car completed i will be showing you some photos of the Good, Bad and Ugly that i've taken previously! Oh i forgot to mention why i called the car Lucinda, i call my 2 Seater Oscar and there was a movie called Oscar and Lucinda. Oscar must like the ones with a wider rear end
luvemfast
Pfft You should have called it Slimey then. As in Oscar and Slimey.......... From Sesame Street. Kids will do that to you.........
Scoota G
Last week the mock up V8 was refitted for an adjustment to the mounting position. Should be right to fit it anytime after tomorrow. I have about 450 photos of the repairs, here's a few more of the repaired sections.

Scoota G
You're gunna have the biggest grin on your face when you open it up for the first time Scoot. I sure hope so!!! Funny thing i've noticed about this build is the support and encouragement, having not posted anything up until lately, makes a semi complex build like this one a less labourious task. It only takes a few positive comment to enspire me to get this beast finished. So thanks Guys and Gal, here's a sneak peak of the front engine mounting cradle which was a front engine plate. Scoota G
Are you still running to your plan build or have you change ? Any build that takes a period of time evolves as the builder puts more thought into individual areas but the basic principals of this project are still very strong. I have tweaked a few areas and outlayed for parts i wasn't expecting to but i'm still on track to finish her for $5000. I think the bonnet came up great which is one of the ideas i came up with along the way!
luvemfast
Looking good Scoot Whole car going to be black or just the bonnet again?
Scoota G
Just the bonnet Simon, i've grown very fond of them black ones. Another Pic?
RB30X
Looks subtle Scoot. If you didn't know Zeds any better you'd think that was a factory bonnet. That will help the engine bay breathe too.

sexual_sushi
Little trouble parking straight there scoot?
Scoota G
Little trouble parking straight there scoot? Yea, but i won't get fined for it. After finishing the rust repairs on Vivek's 240Z and then starting another 67 Mustang fastback i squeezed in some time to build another sump and revise the front mounting cradle to get everything sitting just where i want it. This engine is now in permanently. I need to do surprisingly little more work to have this project running and driving. Another fuel tank and engine bay wiring loom are at the top of the priority list.
