Corsa224
Hi, great work I'm not sure how to phrase this but what colour Orange did you go for? Is it the original orange or a different one.
potter260
Cheers guys Yeah not the standard orange but Porsche burnt orange i think it is? Will probably be doing black wheels and highlights as well.
potter260
Hes had a couple of weeks off but now he's gone onto the rest of the body and the only rust was to be found in the fuel filler area. Which was pretty good i thought getting closer can't wait to see the colour on the body.

Corsa224
Hope so, Micks doing a great job.. I was going to go grey first up too, but thought hey I want this thing to be noticed so why not go bright. I googled and found an orange one on a works wheels add and thought that's it, that's the colour...
potter260
Another update. The body now has all the rust cut out and fixed (well as close as i can get it with out removing every piece of metal and checking for more). Now its on to the other panels. New door skins have arrived. He's taking his time with it but that's alright, these things take time I've already owned it for nearly 10 years, so i must be in any real rush lol. Wayne G
Who did you sand blasting? I am trying to get a quote to get mine done but the local guy is mucking me around. Your not that far from me.
potter260
Yeah the guy that did mine lives next door to my parents, I don't have his details but I can get them if you want. I wouldn't really recommend as it was sort of a backyard job, He doesn't have a booth but he has the rest of the gear. Good for panels and small bits and pieces. But in saying that he can do whole cars. He did the engine bay, around the tail lights, door jambs, fuel cap and anywhere else that would be hard to remove with paint stripper and a grinder. he did take a few weeks longer than he initially said and i had to keep going around there but he did do a good job. I'm sure there would be someone up there closer to you?

potter260
Found some pics of the Zs I've had. The first ones a 2+2 that was very rusty and i had to strip down. Purchased it from Tugan on the Gold coast in 2002 i think? For $350. It had a wider fibreglass body on it.
potter260
This one is 74 260z 2 seater i purchased from Canberra in 2003 for $2000 i think. Just had the body and dash resprayed and repaired no engine and gearbox. Was planing to put the 2+2 engine in it. Probably should have kept this one.... potter260
This is the current Z i purchased in October 2003 for $1600. This is as it came off the car carrier from Victoria, Wallan 3756 (or Glenroy??) from someone with the last name Holt? Does anyone recognise the car or know the person? would just be interesting to get the history on it? This is the only one I own now and I've since stripped it down. But i seem to have 3 engines and gearboxes several dashes and seats but only one car....
potter260
Feels like its getting somewhere now :) He's pulled the doors apart, sand blasted the inner frames and but new skins on now i have rust free doors!! he's also done the same with the bonnet, removed the frame, separated the frame, had it sand blasted and put it all back together. Now he's onto the guards, previous attempt by the previous owner was to pop rivit a patch in from underneath and bog it up... as you can see in the pick.
