i had simmons wheels 15x7 on front and rear of my zed with 225 50 15 tyres fitted fine with 0 offset wheels on my 240z

found need to raise rear spring perch (coil overs would do same thing) to fit 15x8 on rear and run 245 50 15 on rear

This is a 235 tire on a 7" rim (yes I know everyone will tell you that is too small a rim for 235s but the way the tire fits on the rim is actually quite good, these rims might be a bit forgiving though) with standard guards and not rolling. I have about 10mm to stock springs.

Thanks for the info guys ive managed to source some bridgestone semi slick in 205 which will get me through the next sprint ive entered in thanks again guys . I measured the clearence i believe its possible to get 225 under th back but it would be very close to the rear strut but i find it hard to believe you can fit 225 under the front with standard strut towers and standard offset rims!

cheers

Guys just remember a 2+2 has more room in the back for larger tyres vs the 2 seaters :( so given the question was about 240z talk should compare 240z or 260z 2 seaters (and the first 260z as the later have the taller rear strut towers etc so not 100% sure if this changes things too)

Now with that said my last 240z came with 16 x 9 rims with 225/45/16 with stock suspension (well sort of spring were different, but the strut housing were stock with Koni Red installed) the lips were rolled at the rear only and that was when the car run 245/45/16 a number of year before - was not required for the 225/45/16 - however a 225/50/16 that was later installed came close.

These 16x9 were custom 3 piece rims so the offset was done to make this setup just fit so the offset was about -7 and these rims would not work on the front a 260z (I sold them and got some Rota RB-R in 16x8 +10) so the new owner had the inner shells replaced so the front became 16x8.

The same car now runs 16x8 +4 in the Rota RB-R with the 16x8 +10 I had on the car as the wets/spares. There were no issues in the rear with the 16x8 +10 but when the new owner went to a 225/50/16 the front were a little too close for his liking to the front spring perches so that is why he purchased the Rota RB-R in 16x8 +4 the 6mm different just gave that little bit more comfort room.

When I imported the Rota RB-R I also got some Rota RB in 15x8 +12 and here is a pic of them on a 240z with a 225/50/15 with stock spring purches, toy 4x4 calipers. The +4 would give more spring clearance but would move the setup closer to the outside lip.

I think I have some pics of these RB 15x8 +12 on the front of my old 240z without tyres and you can see how they work.....will post those up as attachments when I find them

Pics as follows.

1. My old 240z with the 16x9 on all 4 corners with 225/45/16

2. The Rota RB 15x8 +12 with 225/50/15 on Andy targa 240z (guy I sold the 15x8 too)

No-one pick on us S130 drivers again.

I can fit 255/50/16's in the rear of mine  :P

No flares

lol yes I wish I had kept one of my 280zx 2 seaters, and that is one of the reasons for having one ;) you can get big boots on them standard with the right offsets :)
