Groundhog Posted December 30, 2018 Share Posted December 30, 2018 Mine were zinc passivated painted over with yellow primer colour like the rest of the car, then flat black. After I had wrote the question about the hinges I was looking on google and I found a brand new pair for sale ($895) and they were zinc gold. I have been getting rust cut out of my car and have discovered that someone in the past has done a good job of hiding the rust so now up for a full respray when rust work complete. So I am just trying to ensure that I keep things looking as it was in the day and not just apply paint because it may be easier. I am surprised how many things were zinc gold when car was new. It is just becoming a bit depressing at the amount of money I am going through. My wife is actually more positive about the whole thing so that makes it a bit better.
