zedevan
http://www.initialdrift.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3825 now they are some nice rims...so tempting they look two piece, does that mean it would be possible to get them widened at a later stage? anyone ever looked into how much it costs to do this? is the offset on them a bit to positive?
Zeddophile
tell you what, i reckon you could almost get away with that offset - you should go trial fit them
Administrators gav240z Posted November 8, 2005 Administrators Share Posted November 8, 2005 Does the Silvia have the same stud pattern as a Zed? I'd be interested but I need more dish for use with the flares I don't think there wide enough. They also need the centre caps otherwise they look silly
Toecutter
I think you could run them on a 240/260 with a 10mm spacer which would cost about 5-10 bux each. Don't even think about flares with them though, just too narrow and offset way off what you need. Evan I'm not sure but I think they are one piece cast alloy wheels and the alan key bolts are just show. Sulio
zedevan
yeah the earlier silvias are 4X114.3, i think the series 2 ones are 5X114.3, nate can correct me if i'm wrong, i always thought they needed a fair bit more offset than that, but there's pics of it on a silvia so...would be interesting to try them on and see if they fit (either way my car would need to be lowered hehe) but he's in sydney...also for that price you could probably almost bring in some nice second hand rims from japan like the work ones on gavs car up the top, i perfer the more metalic look of them rather than the full on chrome but hey, for 1g i'd buy those rims hehe just thought i'd post them here incase someone else wanted them, thanks for the info sulio on the price spacers would be, very small compared to the price of the rims, i think i should spend my money elsewhere for now... this is a company that will bid on yahoo japan for you, there's a set of chrome and matt black fender mirrors there atm for 18000yen, which after postage and paying them works out to be 300-400...pretty expensive mirrors....anyone know of somewhere else to get them? hehe http://www.slidewizeimports.com/
Natez
S13s are 4x114.3 same As Early Datsuns or also are R32 and R33 non turbo 4x114.3 s14-s15 are 5x114.3 as are R32, R33, R34 turbos usually new silvias etc nissans are +10- +25 best to get proper wheels in the first place, rather than having spaces, some nice oldskool wantanbes as everyone wants... maybe i'll go japan next year and send some back... Evan, If you end up getting yourself a set of 3 peice wheels it will cost you about $150 per wheel to get outer sections made up if you want them wider for flares. Thats assuming the wheel sits nicely on the inside and does'nt hit the suspension perch. I think the best chance you'll have is finding something like a Simmons wheel if your after someting 2nd hand but be prepared to wait as I did but I ran out of patience. Good luck! Administrators gav240z Posted November 10, 2005 Administrators Share Posted November 10, 2005 I'm seriously thinking about Works Wheels and Flares like the picture in the banner above. http://www.workcompany.com.au/ I like the Euroline FS The Meister S1-2P and S1-3P I think the Euroline FS with the black centre would kick arse on a Flared Z
Natez
yer those wheels scream OLDSKOOL Z... the hardest part with oldskool rims is finding some decent in the 16inch range.. as i don't want anything bigger or anything smaller than 16 and its had to find decent stuff for 16s that really suit the car
zedevan
wheels i'm thinking i might get some wheels off yahoo japan, i think these should come to around $1200, my question is how can you tell if they are real 3 peice? and also do these ones have to much of a negative offset? also does anyone get what they are talking about? hehe, are they saying the rubber on one is scraped bad but doesn't leak...coz thats what i think they must be but ?
Zeddophile
okay.... assuming that the offsets are written in the form (offset -42.5), no way. And just by looking at those, thats a massive offset, your wheel bearings would probably instantly die. As far as the tyres, yes, they're saying one tyre is badly slashed, but the rim isn't bent and the tyre isn't going flat. They're also saying (i think) that you can't claim the condition of the tyres in the auction insurance, or something like that.
zedevan
yeah thats wat i was thinking, they aren't that special anyway, guess to some degree may as well pay more and get custom 3 peice...if i did get them i'd want them to be black... zedevan
well i found an answer for my orginal question, which was basically, can you take the centre out of 2 peice wat's and mount them onto whatever width rim shells to effectively make the size wheel sulio has, but as watanabes and... but the bits to widen it cost him $1400US, and then there's the price of the watanbes, so all in all i guess it isn't worth it for 3 more spokes still dead sexy though, has anyone come across 3 peice wheels that look similar? or any other ones that compete with ROH price wise? http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/shells.html this is the company he bought them from, i called a few "specialists" back when i started this thread and the places just said they'd put it together if i could get the parts from elsewhere...so does anyone know of a place in australia? i wonder if roh would... sco_aus
I saw some Konig i think 15 X 7 inch rims going on ebay that had a similar sort of look, im not sure if they go bigger or where else though.
PZG302
Performance wheels have their superlite wheels in 16x7 now as well as a good range of other sizes now for Z's. I was looking at getting some 16X7's but found some 2nd hand 15X7 globes Bathursts at a good price and they suited my needs better for racing. Here's the link...http://www.performancewheels.com.au/classic.htm Matt
zedevan
yeah but they don't compare with the dish on those watanabes, still alright for their price though. nothing for its price and style has caught my eye more than sulio's with a black centre on a green car i reakon

And now that roh has relised the Adrenalin in modular design, I am trying to choose between them and Venturis. And size wise I think I will be goign with 18s.
zedevan
yeah the Adrenalin are my favorite but i didn't wanna go for 18"s, they look like those simmons ones, but not only are they to much, but they only made 1 set in 4 stud and aren't going to anymore i think my favorite look is 16's so even 17's is pushing that a bit, coz the modena ones are also nice, but they are only in 18's again... Toecutter
I payed $1790.00 for the set. Pretty good really for a custom wheel I reckon. If your thinking about 16's why not get the Wats. I think Gav can get them through a guy for around the AUD$2000 mark delivered!!! Sulio
sco_aus
Thats an awsome price, I'm after 17s though, am thinkin of simmons ie. Fr18s or 90s, i already have some F90s but they are 17 X 8.5 and 9 so fitting them is a pain without coilovers. Lucky coilover kit is being fitted now. they are my competition rims, got toyo Ra1s 23517R45, i shoulda gone 215 on the fron though, too much over hang. Another lesson learnt. zedevan
well seeing your car with the 17"s and zg flares has possibly changed my mind, and rpmz's 18"s look the right size on his car too, so i guess its all about how low it sits, or in general the lower the car is the sexier it is huh, my car already scrapes in spots. i'm not going to be buying rims for a bit now possibly, i was going to when my tax came back...i just get distracted easily by the nicer things to waste money on, i wonder if some watanabe rs8's like the ones i just posted would be about 2g, coz that'd b nice, but then the roh ones have their advantages too
Toecutter
Performance wheels have their superlite wheels in 16x7 now as well as a good range of other sizes now for Z's. Last year I enquired about these and a rep from Performance Wheels told me they had them in 16x7 and 16x8 to suit the Z. He also said they were to come out in 16x10 like their Challenger style wheel. I wonder if the 16x10 are out yet?
